Valorant is a fresh, new, free to play 5v5 tactical first person shooter with a clear and stylized color palette, which is easy to distinguish and immerse yourself into. Riot Games is currently developing it and it recently went Live! Players have a wide variety of characters to pick from, who are called agents. They have four abilities in total and two of them are purchased with gold that you earn between rounds. Valoran currently has 11 agents - Phoenix, Jett, Viper, Cypher, Sova, Sage, Brimstone, Raze, Omen, Breach and the new one, which was released when the game went live - Reyna.

Reyna Overview
Listen up, fellow gamers! Have you met the newest addition to the Valorant lineup? Her name is Reyna, and boy, is she a force to be reckoned with! This spicy senorita hails from Mexico and brings a whole new level of aggressive gameplay to the table. She's got the highest potential for a 1v5 comeback, making her a total game-changer.
But wait, there's more! Our expertly crafted Valorant Reyna guide has all the insider tips and tricks you need to master each of her abilities. We're talking top-tier advice that'll have you dominating the competition in no time. So what are you waiting for? Let's dive in and unleash the power of Reyna!
What do I need to know, before starting to play Reyna?
Reyna’s potential lies in her regenerative abilities and she will be a great front-line initiator and also a defender. Her ability to become immortal will also make her a considerable enemy, as she charges forward, without fear of dying too fast. Her playstyle requires a tradeoff where you make yourself vulnerable in order to collect soul orbs. With your Leer ability, you can easily make the push, but you also have to be careful because your opponents can destroy it! She’s quite powerful, but in order to make use of her kit properly and to the fullest you must also have allies who can cover your back!
Here is what you should know in order to get started with Reyna
Leer - Remember that this ability can travel through walls, so try to use your eye through the wall, in a way that forces the enemy team to see it, and make them look at the way you are coming from. They have to look at it to destroy it and if they do, they are narrow-sighted for a brief moment. You can also use it as a cover when coming from a narrow corridor or around a corner.
Let me try to add some fun to the informative text:
Ah, Leer! The ultimate weapon of surprise! The first thing to remember is that Leer goes through walls. Yes, you heard it right! Walls, my friend! And that means the best way to use it is like Phoenix's or Breach's flashes. You can throw it through a corner, and voila! You can peek once it's up, and the enemies will be blinded like moles. Unlike other blinding or flashing abilities in Valorant, Leer needs line of sight with an enemy, but it also needs to be within their vision to blind them. So, you have to be a little more precise with your aim, but no biggie. Here's the catch: Leer doesn't blind you or your allies, only the enemies. That's what makes it an excellent initiation ability. But wait! Don't get too predictable with your peeking around corners after throwing out the eye. Enemies may get wise to your game and start blocking you. Oh, and don't forget, Leer can be shot once by an enemy with any weapon, which destroys the eye and ends the effect. So, be sneaky, aim high, and keep it in the enemy's view. They'll have to move their crosshair from head-height to shoot it, disrupting them further, and making them more vulnerable to your attack. The trick is to cast Leer in such a way that enemies can't look at you without also looking at the eye. Here's a pro tip: cast the eye somewhere above you because it'll be tough for an enemy to see you without being blinded. And guess what? Because Leer blocks a single shot, it can theoretically be used as short-lived protection against certain one-shot abilities, such as Raze's ultimate. That's pretty sweet, huh?
Dismiss - An important choice to make is whether to use dismiss or devour. Using this ability will allow you to get out of a tricky situation, which can be a 1v2 or you may be stuck in a corner between some enemies, in that case you can use it to quickly reposition and get out of harm’s way!
Oh hello there! Let me tell you about Reyna's Dismiss ability in Valorant.
Dismiss makes Reyna intangible for a short time, so you can escape sticky situations faster than my mom when she hears the doorbell ring. Plus, if you want to end the effect even quicker, just press your ability button again. But keep in mind that there is a hefty wind-down animation, so use it for escaping, not initiating.
Dismiss is designed to deny trades, which means that it prevents the enemy team from killing you immediately after you kill one or more of them. So, if you're Reyna, aim to force 1v1 fights. But if you're outnumbered, Dismiss is like a superhero's panic button.
While intangible, Reyna is immune to all damage - even the spike explosion. So, you can literally walk through fire like a boss. Just don't try it in real life, okay?
And that's the tea on Dismiss. Remember to use it wisely, and you'll be one step closer to becoming a Valorant pro!
Devour - When you use this ability, you can overheal, meaning you can go with fifty health above your normal health bar. Make sure you are at a safe angle when using it, because if you break line of sight while using it, it will stop healing you! Also note that when using it, players can see the purple tether emitted from the spell, so they’ll know your location pretty quickly. Make sure to always be on the move, so enemies don’t figure out your location too easily.
Let's break down Reyna's abilities, shall we? Devour and Dismiss, two powers sharing a pool of charges, but with very different effects. Devour is the MVP here, as it heals you rapidly and can keep you in the fight for much longer. Think of it like a vending machine for health, except it's inside your head. Devour even grants you temporary health, which makes you look like Barney the dinosaur for a moment, but more importantly, it's a boost to your health and armor up to 150. Don't get too comfortable with that purple text next to your health bar though, as it disappears as quickly as a toddler's attention span. One downside of using Devour is that it creates a glowing purple line between you and the orb you devoured, which is a dead giveaway of your location to your enemies. So, remember to use it wisely, unless you want to be seen and shot through walls.
Empress (Ultimate) - While it’s active, you get a buff, increasing your firing speed, reload and your accuracy is increased. Devour and Dismiss are free and don’t cost you any soul orbs. Devour heals you automatically, so try to only use Dismiss to reposition quickly to a different location. Also getting a kill refreshes the duration of the ultimate. It’s best to use this ability at the beginning or middle of a round, when there are more enemies left alive, because of the instant heal of Devour and the potential for a killing spree. In another scenario, you can use it if there are more enemies left as well and when they are closing in on you, you can pop off your ultimate and you can even out the odds.
Reyna is best utilized when she goes up on a 1v1 or behind enemy backlines. A good strategy is to single out enemy players and try to take them out when they are alone. If you happen to have a Brimstone or Breach on your team, she will synergize very well with them, as she would have great openings to the enemy back lines and once there, she can wreak havoc on the enemy team and dismantle them one by one. She is a feast or famine agent, like Riot themselves described her, and she is a high-risk high-reward pick. If you are picking her, you better make sure you’re gonna score some kills or at the very least be very confident while playing her.
Listen up, agents! It's time to talk about Reyna's ultimate ability, Empress. You know what they say: with great power comes great responsibility. And let me tell you, Empress is one heck of a power. Our tests show that it can increase your firing rate by a whopping 33-35% with any weapon. That's more than Brimstone's Stim Beacon, folks. So if you're looking to unleash some serious firepower, Empress is your go-to.
But hold your horses, cowboys. You don't want to waste this bad boy when there's only one or two enemies left. Empress is your team's best bet when you're outnumbered and need to turn the tide of battle. So be smart and save it for those clutch moments.
Now, here's a little secret. When Empress is active, killing an enemy will automatically activate the healing effect of Devour. No need to use the orb or even cast it. And guess what? You can also use Devour on the same kill while Empress is active, which not only heals you but also makes you invisible and invulnerable. Talk about a triple threat!
But watch out, if you use Dismiss on an orb that's healing you, it'll end the healing effect. So make sure to plan your moves accordingly.
Now, let's talk about the Empress/Dismiss combo. The possibilities are endless, but one of the most useful tactics is to peek around a corner while invisible, spot your enemies, hide again for the wind-down animation, and then peek again with the knowledge of their exact whereabouts. It's like playing hide-and-seek, but with guns.
So there you have it, folks. Reyna's Empress is a force to be reckoned with, but use it wisely and you'll be unstoppable.
Tips
Ah, Reyna, the queen of 1v1s and self-sufficiency! As a Duelist, it's her job to thin out the enemy team, but she's not just any Duelist. With her ability to heal instantly after a kill, Reyna lives for those one-on-one encounters. It's like a game of "eat or be eaten" - but with bullets instead of food. Of course, being outnumbered is never fun, so it's important to use her abilities to force those 1v1s whenever possible. Positioning is key here, and you want to make sure you're in the best spot to make use of your kit. Hanging back and letting your team do the work might be tempting, but that's not what Reyna is all about. You need to be in the thick of it, guns blazing and abilities popping. So, if you're playing Reyna, don't be afraid to take risks and play aggressively. Remember, you're not just any agent - you're the queen of the battlefield.
