With the beginning of the next season of Destiny 2, players will face new challenges. Season 5 is called “Season of the Forge”. It comes with a whole new set of weapons, which are going to be available for grabbing from November till March next year.
The Mountaintop is going to be a new pinnacle weapon for the Crucible, and it is supposed to polarize the opinions of the public. If you want the launcher right away, just get our Destiny 2 The Mountaintop Boost Service.
Mountaintop Weapon - Perks
The weapon is going to be kinetic grenade launcher that can be lethal when used right. The reason for this gun to be introduced is the need for more possibilities for a grenade launcher in the primary slot. Moreover, a weapon of that sort will help players achieve more variety in their loadout in the Crucible. The main perk is “Micro-missile”. It makes the projectile move in a straight line, instead of the usual arc. It also moves at a greater speed and explodes on impact. It does not bounce off from the environment. The Mountaintop can easily be considered a “one-hit kill”.
The controversy comes from the fact that such a gun is being added to a PvP competitive mode. In the end, only time will tell if it is worth the effort. It is a strong gun nonetheless, but is it worth trading your powerful primary weapon, which has more ammo, or your shotgun, for the Mountaintop?
Destiny 2 Mountaintop Weapon Guide
This is going to be the 1st time when players won’t need to complete all steps in the Competitive playlist. However, they will still have to reach a said rank threshold. Here are all of the steps, which you need, to get the Mountaintop:
1) Reach the glory rank of “Brave”
To do that, you will need to get 200 points in the competitive playlist. It is not a hard task at all, but remember that you will lose points each time, that you earn a loss. So try your best!
2) Make 750 points from kills with a grenade launcher /mind that competitive kills equal 10 points; non-competitive kills equal 3 points/
You are the one, who chooses how to play through this step.
3) Take down enemies rapidly, while using a grenade launcher. Do this until you reach 200 points /competitive double-play equals 5 points when kills after an initial double-play equal 2 points; non-competitive double-play equal 2 points when kills after an initial double-play equal 1 point/
Even though the competitive mode offers more points, the non-competitive mode with the 6vs6 setup gives more chances for enemy-grouping. This may take some time, but it will be easier for the player.
4) In Calculated trajectory medals, a.k.a. three grenade kills in one life, earn 100 points /competitive medals equal 4 points; non-competitive medals equal 1 point/
This step is going to be time-consuming, especially if you are not that good with the grenade launcher. If that is the case, we suggest you do it in a non-competitive mode. More players mean getting 3 kills more easily and not dying in the meantime. Be patient and engage targets when you are sure that you are going to get them. Try being passive, especially if you only have a power grenade launcher equipped.
5) Reach the glory rank of “Fabled”
For this step, the competitive mode is mandatory. You will have to get a minimum of 2 100 points. We recommend you to play with a full squad. Trying to do it solo, can be a total disaster. Also, if you lose a few times in a row, we suggest you back off a bit and do something else for a while. Losing your temper will only cause you to lose more games. Just take this one match at a time. Move slow and steady, and you will reach the rank “Fabled” eventually.
When you reach the rank, go back to Shaxx, to receive the Mountaintop.
