Apex Legends Fuse Tips and Tricks Guide

Introduction

Whether you are a new player just starting your Apex Legends adventure or a seasoned veteran wanting to add a new character to your legends pool, this article, Fuse – tips and tricks, is just for you.

Why Fuse?

There is a lot of diverse legends in Apex Legends, all of them have unique skills, abilities, and personality so everyone can find a character they will enjoy. The main way to do damage in this game is, as in any shooter, firing your weapons toward opponents, however, while Fuse also needs regular weapons like any other legend, he can do a ridiculously high amount of damage with his abilities.

His high damage-dealing capabilities make him very good at controlling the flow of the fight, if the enemy isn’t careful when approaching Fuse, they will end up dead. If you are someone who likes explosives and destruction there is no better legend to try than Fuse, let's see what his skill arsenal has to offer before we deep-dive into the specifics of utilizing each ability to its fullest.

Abilities Breakdown

Knuckle Cluster – as mentioned before, Fuse = a lot of explosives, so all his abilities are basically different types of bombs, we are starting the list with Knuckle Cluster. This ability allows Fuse to throw a cluster bomb that will stick to the surface or an enemy, for about 1.5 seconds after the collision the cluster will expel a mini-explosion around the impact area. The initial hit deals 10 points of damage while the mini-explosion deal around 60 points of damage. The cooldown recovery of the knuckle cluster takes 20 seconds and the ability has two charges.

Grenadier (Passive) – this passive is something that makes Fuse very dangerous, it enables him to stack an extra grenade per inventory slot and increase grenade throwing speed, range, and accuracy. Grenades thrown by Fuse are launched 70% faster than regular ones.

The Motherlode (Ultimate) – Fuse's ultimate ability allows him to launch a bombardment at the target location,  after the launch, it explodes mid-air into a ring of firebombs that ultimately encircles the target with fire. Every touch of the ring of fire deals 35 points of damage and applies a burn effect that slows a player and deals 8 to 12 points of damage per second based on if you are on top of the fire ring or not. Additionally, all the enemies inside the ring of fire are revealed, and the ring itself lasts 17 seconds.

As you can see, every single ability in Fuse’s kit is about explosives and dealing damage with external sources, despite the fact that all the skills can be summarized into “Fuse throws a bomb at the enemy” there is quite a bit of depth involved in utilizing those abilities to their fullest.

Abilities Specific Tricks

Knuckle Cluster Tips & Tricks – Fuse tactical ability is very versatile, dealing damage to enemies with it is not the only thing you can do. A lot of other legends like Crypto, Caustic, or Loba possess abilities that let them create things for their benefit, however, with the use of a knuckle cluster, you can instantly destroy a Cryptos surveillance drone, Caustic nox gas traps, and Loba black market. Player-created utility devices are not the only thing that can be destroyed, cluster bomb also destroys all the doors that are close enough to their impact, be careful to not destroy the doors you may want to use as a cover. Another thing about knuckle cluster is that so even if you can’t hurt your allies with it, you can still hurt yourself so it is crucial to use it at a long enough range to not deal damage to yourself. Remember that the damage of this ability is not high enough to wish you a fight by itself, it is however a great tool to disorient your enemies due to its loud sound and visual effect.

Grenadier Tips & Tricks – First and most important tip about Fuse’s passive is that you can disable the additional throwing power by clicking a designated button ( the button will vary depending on the input device being the controller or keyboard). Due to how the passive interacts with inventory slots, it is possible to hold up to 6 grenades at the same time as Fuse in Arenas. Another good thing to remember is that Frag Grenades bounce off walls and going to fly further away so you need to adjust the angle of throwing to get the explosive into the desired location. The best grenade to use for Fuse is Arc Star, it is exceptionally good due to how fast it flies at opponents, making it very hard to dodge.

The Motherlode Tips & Tricks – Fuse ultimate ability, like any other of his abilities, can damage Fuse himself but can’t damage his teammates, avoid using the ability on target that you want to have close combat with. While The Motherlode seems like a strictly offensive ability, it can also be used to cover yours from enemies, target the ultimate next to your location to be encircled by flames, blocking the vision and movement of the enemy team.

That’s everything we have prepared about Fuse in our Tips & Tricks series, hopefully, it will let you utilize Fuse combat capabilities to a higher level than before.
