Deadlock Boost

Deadlock is Valve's blend of MOBA and third-person shooter, played 6v6 in a stylized city. Two teams tear down each other's defensive structures and race to destroy the enemy Patron.

The twist is that you carry both jobs in every match. You farm souls, time objectives and build items like a MOBA player, then aim, dodge and trade shots like you are in a shooter.

Where does the gap usually show?

Can you lose the medal you earned?

Yes. A Deadlock medal is not permanent. The system recalibrates it, and a stretch away from the ranked queue can put you back in Obscurus until you requalify. Your hidden rating carries over, but the badge does not wait for you.

What opens the ranked queue?

Ranked is gated. You need a stack of wins in the standard queue, plus a handful of heroes you have won enough games on, before the queue opens at all. That gate is the first thing a lot of new accounts run into, and clearing it is one of the jobs a Deadlock boost handles.

Every Deadlock hero plays differently enough that swapping characters can feel like switching games. Each carries a primary weapon plus four abilities you unlock as your souls climb, so a hero's identity comes from the mix of gunplay and ability power.

Why is a new hero so punishing in ranked?

Your lane sets your job for the early game: how much space you get, how fast you hit item spikes, how quickly you can pressure objectives. Learning that flow on an unfamiliar character under ranked pressure is rough.

Mastering a hero means drilling its kit and reading the macro decisions it is built to make. A Deadlock booster who already mains that character plays it at a level most people need months to reach.

Souls are the currency behind every Deadlock match, and they do two jobs at once: they raise your hero level and they buy your items. Fall behind on souls and you fall behind on power and on your kit at the same time.

Where do souls come from?

• Lane Troopers, the steady income
• Neutral camps out in the jungle
• Breakable crates and props around the map
• The Soul Urn, and kills on enemy players

Some of that income arrives unsecured. It banks over time, and dying before it lands drops it on the spot for anyone to pick up.

Which items are worth buying?

Items fall into three categories. Weapon items push gun damage, Vitality items pad health and survivability, and Spirit items scale ability output. Each is tiered by soul cost, and many carry actives you trigger by hand or imbue one of your abilities with an extra effect.

The economy is the quiet decider. A team that is richer by the mid-game hits its item spikes first and snowballs from there.

Every Deadlock match points at one goal: the enemy Patron. You cannot rush it. Each lane stacks defences you have to break in order:

1. Guardians, the outer towers
2. Walkers, the heavier structures behind them
3. Base Guardians, once the lane is open
4. Shrines, which shield the Patron
5. The Patron itself

How does a match usually unfold?

Laning is about farming souls and hitting your first item breakpoints. The mid-game opens up as structures fall and the Mid-Boss becomes worth contesting for the buff it drops. The late game turns into high-stakes fights around the Shrines and Patron, where one lost fight can end it.

Movement ties it together. Ziplines, ropes and dashes decide how fast you answer a threat across the map, and the constant question is which objective moves you closer to the Patron next. That map sense, on top of aim and economy, is what a strong Deadlock booster brings to an account losing winnable matches.
