Destiny 2 Competitive Ranks Guide

Intro

Alright, let's break down the Competitive Ranks in Destiny 2, also known as the Crucible. This is where the true guardians rise and get to show off their skills and tactics.

First things first, you have to complete your Placement Series. This is where the game assesses your abilities and figures out where you belong. Don't worry, it's not like one of those awkward placement tests you took in school where you had no idea what was going on. Just play your best and let the game do the rest.

Once you complete your Placement Series, you'll be given a rank, and this is where the real fun begins. There are a total of six Competitive Divisions to climb through, from Copper to Ascendant. It's like being in a super elite club, but instead of a velvet rope, you get a cool rank badge.

Destiny 2 Competitive mode is where the real action happens, and it's been revamped to feature a playlist of tense, 3v3 modes, including a smaller version of Rift. If you don't know what Rift is, don't worry, we covered that earlier. Just scroll up and get educated!

If bragging rights aren't enough for you, there are also some new rewards to chase in this mode. You can snag drops for the reprised Rose Hand Cannon, which is a pretty sweet deal. Who doesn't love a good hand cannon?

To get started on your journey to becoming the ultimate guardian, you can grab the introductory quest from Lord Shaxx in-game. But if you want to learn more about the Competitive Ranks and how to dominate, we've got you covered.

Competitive Ranks

Get ready for some serious Crucible competition in the latest season of Destiny 2, with the introduction of Competitive Divisions! This revamped skill-based experience pits you against other players in a tense 3v3 playlist, with new ranks and sub-ranks to climb through. But be warned, you'll need to prove yourself first in a series of placement matches to earn your spot in the appropriate division.

The ranks start with the Untested, where new players can complete their placement matches, before climbing the ladder from Copper III to Ascendant. Each win or loss will earn you or cost you Division Points, so be careful not to lose too many or risk demotion. And to make things even more challenging, you'll need to complete Promotion and Relegation Series to progress up or avoid being demoted down a division.

But don't worry, matchmaking is available, so you won't need to scramble for a fireteam before joining in on the action. Solo players can join the Freelance playlist, where they'll match with other solo players.

Keep in mind that your performance, skill level, and division placement all affect your point gains or losses from a match. So try your best to perform well and win matches to earn those sweet Division Points! And if you're ranked Gold III or higher, don't forget to play a few matches each week to avoid rank decay and falling into a lower division.

If you want to learn more about the Competitive playlist, check out Bungie's help article or read up on the latest updates in their weekly blog and patch notes. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and climb those ranks, Guardian!

Crucible Rewards

Hold onto your hats, Guardians, because there are some sweet rewards up for grabs in the Destiny 2 Competitive playlist. Not only do you get some slick new rank emblems to show off your skill, but you also earn a stacking bonus to your Crucible Rank for each Competitive Division you climb. That means you can breeze through Lord Shaxx's reward track and get some sick loot, including those coveted Upgrade Modules.

The bonuses for each Competitive Division are nothing to sneeze at either. Copper and Bronze players get a 1.0x bonus, Silver gets 1.1x, Gold gets 1.2x, Platinum gets 1.3x, Adept gets 1.4x, and Ascendant gets a 1.5x bonus. So the higher you climb, the more you reap in rewards.

But wait, there's more! If you complete your seven placement matches as part of Lord Shaxx's 'Dividing the Ladder' quest, you get a sweet roll for the Rose Hand Cannon. Plus, you can also earn a roll by completing a weekly challenge in the Competitive playlist. And the best part? You can complete both methods on multiple characters, meaning you can potentially get up to three Rose drops in a week.

And if all that isn't enough to get you hyped, just wait for the future. With changes coming to the Competitive playlist, we can expect even more rewards and incentives to climb those ranks. So get your game on, Guardians, and start climbing that ladder!
