What's so special about Dead Messenger, you ask? Well, for starters, it's a grenade launcher that will definitely spice up your loadout. Plus, the best part is that it's available even for those who haven't splurged on The Witch Queen expansion. However, be prepared to put in some serious effort to unlock it.

You'll need to complete a bunch of quests and activities to finally get your hands on this baby. But hey, isn't that what being a Guardian is all about? So, gear up, rally your Fireteam, and get ready for some thrilling action to claim your Dead Messenger!

Dead Messenger Guide - What to do?

Hey there! I'd be happy to help you out with that.

Are you looking for a more casual and humorous tone, or would you like something more formal and informative? And would you like me to rewrite the entire passage or just certain parts of it?

  • Step 1 – Rising Tension

Welcome to the Dead Messenger quest, Guardian! Get ready to embark on an epic journey to unlock the Season of the Risen Exotic weapon, but beware: it won't be easy.

First things first, you'll need to complete The Investigation mission, which will send you to Savathun's Throne World to meet Fynch, an undercover agent. Once you've completed this, you'll receive the Rising Tension quest from Ikora Rey on Mars. It's fairly straightforward, just head to the Tower's Hangar to help Caital investigate the Lucent Hive.

But hold on tight, because you'll soon find yourself on Europa, fighting powerful Hive enemies and chasing one down through a series of portals. Along the way, you'll need to defeat guards with a Relic Sword and face off against Mor'ak the Lightstealer. And as if that weren't enough, Mor'ak will summon Aspects of Savathun that you'll have to defeat with a Psionic Spear.

Once you complete Rising Tension, you'll receive the Legendary Recurrent Impact Machine Gun and unlock the next quest, Operation Elbrus, the season's quest, which will update weekly. But don't forget: Dead Messenger is locked behind two questlines, so there's still work to be done before you can get your hands on that sweet, sweet grenade launcher.

  • Step 2 – Operation Elbrus

Ah, so you want to get your hands on Dead Messenger, eh? Well, buckle up because it's going to be quite the adventure!

To start, you'll need to complete the first two questlines, The Investigation and Rising Tension. In the latter, you'll be investigating the Lucent Hive and their ties to some pretty spooky stuff. After you defeat Mor'ak the Lightstealer and her army of Savathun's Aspects, you'll unlock Operation Elbrus, the season's quest, which will update weekly.

Now, don't get too overwhelmed, because you only need to focus on the first seven steps of Operation Elbrus for now. Just play PsiOps Battlefield to collect Psionic Intel and exchange it for a Runic Chest. The chest will give you insight, which you'll use to upgrade the War Table back at the H.E.L.M.

Once you've upgraded the War Table, go have a chat with Saladin. He'll finally give you the Dead Messenger quest, Kill the Messenger. And let me tell you, it's worth it to get your hands on this grenade launcher. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

  • Step 3 – Kill the Messenger and Vox Obscura

Oh boy, it looks like we've got ourselves another quest wrapped up in yet another quest. Destiny 2 really loves to keep us on our toes, doesn't it?

The quest we're talking about here is called "Kill the Messenger", and it's a doozy. But before you can even think about tackling it, you'll need to complete another quest called "Vox Obscura". And let me tell you, this quest is no walk in the park.

First off, you're going to need to beef up your power level to at least 1500, and it's recommended you hit the Powerful cap of 1550. So, get ready for some serious grinding.

Once you're all leveled up and feeling confident, head on over to the Throne World map and open up the Vox Obscura mission banner to launch the quest. This will take you on a wild ride through a time warp on Mars and put you through a series of timed objectives. So, keep your wits about you and your trigger finger ready, Guardian!

VOX OBSCURA INTRODUCTION:

Are you ready for a mission that involves sneaking into a hangar, racing through the airfield, and defeating a big boss? Of course, you are! We're talking about the "Dead Messenger" quest in the Witch Queen campaign of Destiny 2, and it's wrapped up in a quest called "Vox Obscura".

Before you start, you should know that this mission is tougher than most of the missions in the Witch Queen campaign, and you'll need a power level of at least 1500. But don't worry, we have faith in you! It's recommended you play at the Powerful cap of 1550, so you might want to consider some leveling up.

The first step in the mission is to sneak into the hangar. No pressure, but there's a timer after you defeat the enemies there, so you'll have to be quick! Once you've cleared the hangar, you'll have four minutes to destroy all objectives in the airfield. This includes heavily armed vehicles, so use your own vehicles, including Interceptors, to divide and conquer with your Fireteam members.

Once you've cleared the airfield, follow the objective marker, blast the hangar door apart, and race to the control room. Here you'll need to clear Cabal Codewardens and their cohorts from a series of three rooms within 10 minutes. Don't forget to deactivate the shield protecting the Codewarden by defeating the Psion in the energy bubble, override the consoles, and repeat the same process in the other two rooms.

The final phase is a boss fight against Qabix the Insurgent. Qabix is defended by three Psions in energy bubbles, so defeat the Psions, and then unleash your heavy weaponry on Qabix. The shields regenerate with each segment of Qabix's health bar you deplete, so you'll have to repeat this process twice.

Once you've defeated Qabix, head into the treasure room, and open the golden chest inside to get the Dead Messenger launcher. Voila! You've completed the mission and earned your new grenade launcher.

Don't forget, a Master difficulty version of Vox Obscura will open up after this, and there's a very useful Champion farm and a useful Pinnacle source you can check each week. So go ahead, celebrate your victory, and enjoy using your new grenade launcher in Destiny 2!
