Lost Lament Quest - The Lament Sword Guide

Ahoy, Guardians! Have you heard about the Lost Lament quest in Destiny 2: Beyond Light? It's a quest to acquire The Lament Exotic sword, which is like a lightsaber on steroids. This weapon can slice through bosses like a hot knife through butter and make quick work of pesky Champions. If you're a serious raider or Nightfall player, then you absolutely need this sword in your arsenal.

To get started on the quest, you'll need to have completed the Beyond Light campaign and obtained the Exo-Stranger's quest, Born in Darkness. Once you've completed the first two parts of that quest, you can pick up Lost Lament from Banshee-44 in the Tower.

Lost Lament has several steps, including gathering materials, defeating enemies, and solving puzzles. One of the coolest parts of the quest involves reliving Banshee-44's memories and discovering the story behind his lost blade. It's like a mini time-travel adventure!

Without giving too much away, you'll eventually reach a step that requires you to take on a tough enemy in the Master Lost Sector. Make sure you're prepared for this fight, Guardian. It's a doozy.

Once you've defeated the enemy and completed the quest, you'll be rewarded with The Lament. Trust us, it's worth all the effort. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your weapons and get ready to embark on an epic quest to acquire one of the best swords in Destiny 2.

Lament Weapon Guide - What to do?

  • Step 1 – Talk to Banshee-44

Listen up, Guardians! It's time to channel your inner detective skills and head on over to the Tower to meet up with our good old pal Banshee-44. He's got a quest for you called Lost Lament, and it's time to put your thinking caps on and help him uncover his enigmatic history. Don't worry, Banshee-44 will be more than happy to share some sweet tips on how to get the infamous Lament Exotic sword - perfect for slicing and dicing those pesky bosses and peskier Champions. So, get ready to embark on an epic journey of discovery and sword-wielding prowess.

  • Step 2 – Collect Three Dead Exos

Ah, the Dead Exos. They sound like they'd fit right in at a Halloween party, but in reality, they're a crucial part of The Lament quest.

First up, we've got the Exo on the road to Variks. Keep an eye out for some wreckage on the left side of the path. It's easy to miss, so don't be afraid to stop and smell the roses. Or, in this case, the debris.

CADMUS RIDGE:

Ah, the joys of collecting! Who doesn't love scavenging for hidden treasures in video games? The first Exo on our list for The Lament quest is located in Cadmus Ridge. To find this little guy, you'll need to take a left as soon as you enter the area from Variks. Look for a massive snow cliff and start climbing up. When you reach the top, you'll see a yellow Exo just sitting there waiting for you to interact with it. Piece of cake, right?

PERDITION LOST SECTOR:

Ready for a little adventure? To find the second Exo for the Lost Lament quest, you'll have to put on your explorer hat and delve deep into the Perdition Lost Sector in Cadmus Ridge. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds! Just run through the Lost Sector like you normally would and show that giant Minotaur boss who's boss. Once you've taken it down, look for a friendly blue Exo sitting near a crate on the left side of the arena. Give it a quick tap to progress the quest and you'll be on your way to getting The Lament Exotic sword in no time!

CONCEALED VOID LOST SECTOR:

Ah, the hunt for the Exos continues! For the final step of The Lament quest, you need to find a big Exo head. Yes, you read that right, a big Exo head!

Head to the Giant Exo in the center of the Eventide Ruins. You can’t miss it — it’s a giant floating head. Once there, interact with the head to progress the quest and get The Lament Exotic sword.

Now, with The Lament in your hands, you'll be slicing and dicing your way through enemies like a true warrior. But be warned, with great power comes great responsibility. Don't let The Lament's power get to your head, or it might just end up in the hands of your enemies!

  • Step 3 – Giant Exo

Ah, the elusive Giant Exo head. The Lost Lament quest wouldn't be complete without it. To find this gargantuan piece of machinery, you'll need to head over to the BrayTech facility. It's located just off of Cadmus Ridge, so if you're not sure where that is, just follow the crowds of Guardians running towards it.

Once inside the BrayTech facility, you'll need to keep your wits about you. The Vex have a habit of showing up unannounced, and they're not exactly friendly. But don't worry, with your trusty weapons and skills, you'll make short work of them.

As you navigate through the facility, keep an eye out for an open door on the right side of the entryway. This will lead you to the Giant Exo head. And trust us, you won't miss it. It's kind of hard to miss a giant head the size of a small building.

Once you activate the Giant Exo head, get ready to have a heart-to-heart with a piece of machinery. It'll give you the next step in The Lament quest. And with that, you'll be one step closer to acquiring the Exotic sword that every serious Destiny player needs in their arsenal.

  • Step 4 – Kill Vex with Swords

Ah, yes, the dreaded task of grinding. It's the part of Lost Lament that separates the casuals from the diehards. If you want that shiny Lament Exotic sword, you'll need to get your hands dirty and start slicing through Vex like a mad Guardian.

The quest requires you to kill 100 Vex with swords, as well as 20 Minotaurs, Hydras, or Cyclopses with swords. And don't think you can just wait for these kills to happen naturally over time. No, no, no. That's not how the game is played.

If you want to get this done quickly, you'll need to head into the Perdition Lost Sector in Cadmus Ridge. Kill all the Vex in the first room, then head up the stairs into the second room. Don't finish the Lost Sector, though. Instead, walk out the front door until you see "Cadmus Ridge" pop up on your screen. Then, walk back in and repeat the process. It's not glamorous, but it gets the job done.

Once you've sliced and diced your way through 100 Vex, it's time to move on to the Minotaurs, Hydras, and Cyclopses. This part is a bit more tedious, but the fastest way to get it done is to run in, kill the first Minotaur that spawns, then walk back out and repeat. It's not glamorous, but it gets the job done.

  • Step 5 – Unlock Empire Hunt

Alright, listen up, Guardian! If you're up to date with all the Destiny happenings, then you must have already finished this step. But if you're new to the Beyond Light expansion, then you've got some work to do, my friend. You need to unlock the Empire Hunts to proceed. How do you do that, you ask? Well, complete Variks' post-campaign questline, that's how! And once you've done that, it's time to take on the Dark Priestess Empire Hunt. So, sharpen your weapons and get ready for some action!

  • Step 6 – Exo Challenge

Ah, the Exo Challenge - a brand new activity type in Beyond Light. This step is all about completing this challenge and unlocking the next phase of the Lost Lament quest. If you're not quite there yet, no worries! Just head over to Variks and start the Old Secrets, New Challenges quest to unlock the Exo Challenge.

Once you've completed the Exo Challenge, Lost Lament will progress, and you'll also finish up Old Secrets, New Challenges. If you're already an Exo Challenge pro, just select the challenge from the map and give it another go. Either way, get ready for some intense action and some seriously challenging gameplay. Good luck, Guardian!

  • Step 7 – Defeat Vex with Finishers

Ah, yes. The thrilling farm-fest continues with Step 5 of Lost Lament. Get ready to take on those pesky Vex once again, but this time with a twist!

Head back into the Perdition Lost Sector off of Cadmus Ridge and equip a weapon that only does a bit of damage per shot, like an auto rifle. Attack the Vex until you can finish them off with a stylish final blow. Repeat this process until you’ve finished around 60 Vex. It may take a run or two of Perdition, but you'll get there.

And hey, why not make it interesting? See who can get the most creative finisher or come up with a clever name for your weapon of choice. Just don't get too carried away and forget the task at hand.

  • Step 8 – Blade Pieces Found

Alright, time to put your detective hat on and hunt for some blade pieces! But don't worry, this one's a straightforward task.

First things first, head over to the Europa map and launch The Glassway Strike. Fight your way through waves of enemies until you reach the boss. Once you get the boss to about a third of its health, it'll drop the blade pieces you need. And just like that, you're one step closer to completing the Lost Lament quest!

But hold up, don't get too excited just yet. If you happen to get matchmade into the Strike towards the end and the pieces drop, you'll still need to do the Strike again. So keep your eyes peeled for any dropouts who might leave you hanging.

  • Step 9 – Talk to Banshee-44

Congratulations, Guardian! You've made it to the final step of the Lost Lament quest. And you know what that means? It's time to head back to Banshee-44 and show him the broken sword you worked so hard to collect.

Once you present the blade to Banshee-44, he'll start to remember a few things, like the time he forgot to pay his tab at the local watering hole. After some brain-rattling tinkering, Banshee will finally hand you the repaired sword back, and it will rest in your Heavy weapon slot, waiting to be unleashed on your enemies.

It's been a long and perilous journey, but with your trusty new sword in hand, you're ready to face any challenge that comes your way. Good luck, Guardian, and happy slaying!

  • Step 10 – Abandoned Bunker

Welcome to Step 8 of the Lost Lament quest, where we'll be getting our hands on some blueprints. And you might think this will be some grand treasure hunt, but nope! It's as simple as completing the Bunker E15 Lost Sector in Eventide Ruins on Europa. Just head on over there, beat up some baddies, and claim your prize from the chest at the end. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

  • Step 11 – Reforging the Past

It's time to put that fancy new sword to use in Step 9 of the Lost Lament quest. Exit the Bunker E15 Lost Sector and make your way to the Reforging the Past quest flag to begin the mission. But wait, there's more! You get to hop into a tank and mow down some Vex in Cadmus Ridge. Who doesn't love a good tank ride?

Once you've had your fun, the Clovis AI will call for your assistance. Fight your way through the BrayTech lab, creating destruction wherever you go. Take out all the Vex in your way until you reach the giant Exo head. Once you've made it that far, place the broken blade on the pedestal and let the Clovis AI work its magic. When it's done, pick up your shiny new sword and get ready to show off your fancy new stick of RAM Exotic sword skills.

With your newly reforged blade in hand, it's time to go to town on some Vex. Clear them all out with ease and then talk to the Clovis AI to wrap up this step.

  • Step 12 – Return to Banshee-44

Alright, it's time to head back to the old gunsmith Banshee-44 for the final step in this exotic quest. But hold on to your sparrow, because things are about to get wild. When you show him the reforged sword, Banshee's memories start to flood back. It turns out he used to be Clovis Bray himself! Whoa, talk about a plot twist!

After thanking you for restoring his old weapon, Banshee gifts you the sword and says you can keep it. But wait, there's more! He's got his sights set on that giant Exo head and is itching to see what it has to say. Will he find out more about his mysterious past or just get lost in existential musings? Only time will tell.

And just like that, the Lost Lament quest is complete. Congratulations, Guardian! You've successfully journeyed through the Vex-infested ruins of Europa, gathered broken blade pieces, and reforged a powerful Exotic sword. Now go forth and vanquish your foes with style and finesse, wielding your new prized possession like a true badass.

Final Words

Looking to unleash some serious carnage in Destiny 2? Look no further than The Lament, an exotic sword that packs a punch like no other. But be warned: mastering its moves requires some serious finesse.

First, let's talk damage. The Lament can dish out some serious pain, making it a top pick for high-level activities like the Deep Stone Crypt raid. And its Exotic Perk, Banshee's Wail, adds even more power to your swings with a combo that requires some serious skill.

To execute Banshee's Wail, you'll need to rev your blade by holding down the block button. Then, while still blocking, unleash three light attacks. Once you see Banshee's Wail x8 or x9 on your screen, hit the heavy attack button to unleash massive damage on your enemies. The result? Broken champion shields and a whole lot of hurt for your foes.

Of course, getting that close to enemies can be dangerous, even for the most skilled Guardians. That's where the Revved Consumption perk comes in, healing you as you fight. It's the perfect way to keep yourself alive while dishing out some serious punishment.

So, if you're looking for an exotic weapon that can take on even the toughest foes, The Lament is the sword for you. Just be prepared to put in some serious practice to master its moves.
