Revision Zero Weapon Guide - What to do?

Congratulations, Guardian! You've made it through the main story mission in Season of the Seraph and are now ready for the ultimate challenge: The Hidden Shape Exotic quest. But first, let's get some housekeeping out of the way. Before you can embark on this quest, you must complete two "Operation" missions. Once you're done with that, the Holoprojector will give you the green light for The Hidden Shape.

In this quest, you'll be tasked with crafting the ultimate weapon, Revision Zero. But this isn't your average Exotic. Oh no, Revision Zero is almost entirely customizable via crafting. It's like arts and crafts, but with guns! Who said Guardians don't have a creative side?

To unlock all the customization options, you'll need to jump into the "Operation: Seraph Shield" mission via the HELM. It'll take you to Earth and eventually, up into space. Prepare yourself for an epic adventure that will test your skills as a Guardian and your crafting abilities. May the light be with you, Guardian.

  • Step 1 – Operation "Seraph Shield"

Listen up, Guardian! It's time to suit up and head into "Operation: Seraph Shield." But before you do that, make sure you've completed the two previous "Operation" missions. We don't want you going into battle half-cocked!

Now, once you're in the mission, be prepared to sneak past some pesky laser towers on Earth. Just follow the quest marker and you'll eventually end up at the launch center for the space elevators. But be on the lookout for small vents you can break and crawl through. You never know what you might find in there!

And if you're having trouble remembering where to go or what to do, we've got you covered. Either jot down some notes or grab a friend to help you out. It's always more fun to save the universe with a buddy by your side. Plus, the memory puzzles are a breeze when someone else has your back.

Once you reach the end of the mission, upload that virus like a boss and claim your prize - a Deepsight Resonance version of the Revision Zero Exotic. It's almost like Christmas, except instead of Santa Claus, you get a gun. And instead of cookies and milk, you get alien butt-kicking skills.

  • Step 2 – Crafting Revision Zero

Congratulations, Guardian! You have obtained the elusive Deepsight Resonance version of the Revision Zero Exotic! Now what? Don't fret, we've got you covered.

First things first, you need to extract the weapon's pattern. You can either break it down and get the pattern or grind through enemies and extract it the old-fashioned way. If you need a refresher on the crafting system in Destiny 2, check out our guide.

Once you've acquired the pattern, head over to the Relic on Mars and craft a new Revision Zero. But be warned: if you try to Reshape instead of Shape, you'll only waste precious materials. Don't be that Guardian.

When you enter the crafting menu for Revision Zero, you'll see what makes this weapon so special. Its Intrinsic Perk is Hunter's Trace, which allows it to shoot through Anti-Barrier Shields and collect data on headshots. Once you have enough data, you can hold down the reload button and turn the pulse rifle into a sniper rifle. The more data you have, the more sniper shots you get (up to a maximum of three).

But wait, there's more! You can upgrade Hunter's Trace three more times: to Hunter's Trace 2, Hunter's Trace 3, and Hunter's Trace 4. Each level unlocks new customizable aspects of the weapon, from barrel perks to secondary perks.

Once you reach Hunter's Trace 2, you can upgrade the barrel perks. You start with Corkscrew Rifling, but eventually, you can choose from a variety of other options such as Extended Barrel, Chambered Compensator, and Fluted Barrel.

But that's not all! As you level up the gun by using it, you'll unlock new magazine perks such as Armor-Piercing Rounds and High-Caliber Rounds. Once you have Hunter's Trace 3, you can choose an additional perk such as Eye of the Storm or Vorpal Weapon. And finally, when you get Hunter's Trace 4, you can customize your stock with options like Fitted Stock and Short-Action Stock.

Now that you've chosen your perfect combination of perks, Shape Revision Zero to build your one-of-a-kind Exotic. Good luck out there, Guardian!

  • Step 3 – Revision Zero Catalysts

Ah, Catalysts. The way they breathe new life into your favorite Exotics. But Revision Zero? It’s got not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR Catalysts for you to choose from. That’s right, folks. You get to be picky with how you want to upgrade this bad boy.

But don’t get too excited just yet. These Catalysts aren’t going to be handed to you on a silver platter. No sirree. You’ll have to work for them in the weekly “More Than a Weapon” mission, which will then unlock the “Should You Choose to Accept It, Part 1-4” missions. And as if that wasn’t enough, these Catalysts are time-gated. So, you better clear your calendar and prepare to grind.

But wait, there’s more! If you’re wondering what these Catalysts do, wonder no more. We’ve got the inside scoop for you. The first Catalyst you’ll be able to unlock is the Frenzy Refit (Feeding Frenzy), followed by the Pressurized Refit (Under Pressure), Outlaw Refit (Outlaw), and finally, the 4-Timer Refit (Fourth Time’s the Charm). Each Catalyst offers a different perk, giving you more options to customize your Revision Zero to your liking.

So, get ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work. These Catalysts aren’t going to upgrade themselves. And who knows, maybe the time-gate is for the best. You’ll need some time to catch your breath before diving back into the fray, guns blazing with your fully upgraded Revision Zero.

  • Step 4 – Feeding Frenzy Catalyst

Hold on to your space helmets, Guardian! Bungie has just released the first Catalyst quest for Revision Zero, and it's called "Feeding Frenzy." But getting your hands on this shiny new toy won't be easy - you'll need to complete the "Should You Choose To Accept It, Part 1" mission first.

To unlock this mission, you'll need to finish the fourth weekly step of "More Than a Weapon." Once that's done, you'll need to replay the "Operation: Seraph Shield" mission. Easy-peasy, right? Wrong. This quest has a couple of complex steps that will test your skills.

First, you'll need to land on Europa and decrypt a Cipher by killing enemies or running patrols. Next, you'll be sent to the Perdition Lost Sector in Cadmus Ridge. Look for a circular Cypher with the Hakke symbol on top of it to continue the quest.

The next step is to play "Operation: Seraph's Shield" on the Legendary difficulty level. This can be pretty tough, so you may want to team up with other Guardians. Once you've reached the room with the path along the floor and the three computer nodes above, you'll need to activate all three monitors in the correct order to deactivate the traps. After that, look to your right and you'll see an Exo sitting against the wall. Interact with it to progress the quest.

Complete "Operation: Seraph's Shield" on Legendary and you'll unlock the Feeding Frenzy Catalyst. Unlike most Exotics, you won't need to get a ton of kills to activate this baby - you'll gain access to the perk immediately.

But wait, there's more! There are still three more Revision Zero Catalysts to unlock, and each of them will come from a similar quest in the "Should You Choose To Accept It" line. So gear up, Guardian, and get ready to take on some tough challenges to upgrade your Revision Zero to its full potential.

  • Step 5 – Under Pressure Catalyst

Ahoy, Guardian! It's time to get your hands on the second Catalyst for Revision Zero, and this one is a doozy. The “Pressurized Refit” is what you need to craft Under Pressure on the Exotic pulse rifle. And don't worry, the process to get it is a little less complicated than navigating the Cosmodrome with a blindfold on.

To kick things off, complete the weekly "More Than a Weapon" quest and grab the "Should You Choose To Accept It, Part 2" mission from the Exo Frame. Next up, run the preparatory “Operation: Seraph Shield” mission and then head on over to the Moon. Here, you'll need to do what Guardians do best: kill enemies and run patrols until you can decipher the Cipher.

Once you've successfully decrypted the Cipher, you'll receive a quest to run the K1 Logistics Lost Sector in Archer’s Line. You know the drill: run it and then interact with the Cipher at the end to get the next step.

Now it's time to run the “Operation: Seraph Shield” on Legendary again, but this time the Exo is much more elusive. Keep your eyes peeled and proceed through the mission until you get the Operator buff. Then, crawl through a ventilation shaft and use the Operator buff to open another door elsewhere in the level. When you shoot the panel, don't go back to where you started. Instead, continue through the vent and look for the Exo body lying in the corner. Interact with it to progress the quest, and then finish “Operation: Seraph Shield” on Legendary.

Once you've completed the mission, head on over to the Enclave and customize your Revision Zero with the Under Pressure Catalyst, Hunter’s Trace 3, and a shiny new Ornament. Just keep in mind that you can only have one Catalyst active at a time, so you'll need to choose between Under Pressure and Feeding Frenzy. It's a tough call, but you got this, Guardian!
