Welcome to the Icebox survival guide! Love it or hate it, this map is a staple of the competitive VALORANT scene and it's essential to have a solid grasp of its ins and outs if you want to climb the ranks. In this article, we'll take a deep dive into Icebox and provide you with strategies that can help you dominate your opponents.
First things first, let's talk about callouts. Communication is key in any competitive game, and that's especially true in VALORANT. If you don't know the callouts on Icebox, you're going to have a tough time coordinating with your team. So, make sure to familiarize yourself with all the different areas of the map and their respective names.
Now, let's move on to some strategies. One approach that has been quite effective on Icebox is to focus on controlling mid. This allows you to split up the defenders and create opportunities for your team to push into either site. To do this, you'll need to use your utility effectively and work with your team to take control of key areas like the tube and the nest.
Another thing to keep in mind is that Icebox is a very vertical map, which means you need to be aware of enemies above and below you. You can use this to your advantage by playing positions that give you a height advantage or by using vertical utility like Jett's Updraft or Omen's Shrouded Step.
As for agents, there are plenty of viable choices on Icebox, but some stand out more than others. For example, Viper can be incredibly effective at controlling the mid area and denying entry to certain parts of the map. Meanwhile, Breach's seismic charges and flashes can be devastating in the tight corridors of Icebox.
In summary, Icebox can be a challenging map, but with the right strategies and communication, you can turn it into an advantage. Make sure to know the callouts, focus on mid control, and take advantage of the verticality of the map. And don't forget to experiment with different agents to find the ones that work best for your playstyle. With these tips, you'll be climbing the ranks in no time!

Icebox Map A Site Overview
Welcome to the battle of the brains on A Site of Icebox! Unlike a simple and straightforward map, this Spike Site is a complex labyrinth with countless angles and tricky tactics. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you're up for the challenge, we've got some tips and tricks to help you come out on top.
Positioning is key on this Spike Site, especially for all you sniper players out there. Work with your Controller teammates to smoke out any pesky angles that may be holding you back. And don't forget to communicate with your team's IGL (In-Game Leader) to make sure you're all on the same page.
Attacking A Site on Icebox can be tricky, but remember: slow and steady wins the race. Don't rush in blindly; instead, take a moment to use your abilities to clear out any enemies lurking in the shadows. And watch out for traps from the enemy Sentinel players, as they can really ruin your day.
When it comes to planting the Spike, be strategic. Plant it in an open area to make it harder for the Defending team to defuse it. And don't forget to set up a solid crossfire to protect it.
Defending A Site on Icebox requires a more defensive approach, so it's time to wake up your Killjoy and Cypher teammates. Set up some traps and get ready for the rush. And don't forget about crossfire; it can make all the difference.
If you're an Operator player, use your skills to hold down the fort. And remember, losing this Spike Site is a major setback, so be prepared to invest a lot of your team's utility in a successful retake.
So gear up, get your thinking caps on, and let's show them what we're made of!
Icebox Map B Site Overview
Welcome to the thrilling world of Spike Sites on Icebox! Today, we'll be taking a closer look at the mysterious and complex B Site, which is quite literally on the opposite side of the map from A Site. B Site is made up of several interconnected rooms and corridors that will test your strategy and ability usage to the max.
Attacking B Site on Icebox If you're an Attacker, your first objective is to focus on controlling B Main and B Yellow. This will give you a chance to take over Top B and Lower B and allow you to safely plant the Spike. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! Covering all these areas can be tough, but luckily, your abilities can help you out.
To gather intel and secure angles, you can send some of your teammates to attack from Mid or Kitchen. And just like on the A Site, you have a default plant spot, so the most challenging part is getting into the site. Once you plant the Spike, it should be smooth sailing.
Defending B Site on Icebox If you're defending B Site, your top priority is to hold B Main at all costs and wait for your teammates to rotate. You absolutely cannot let the attacking team take control of B Yellow, or it will likely result in a round loss.
To stop a potential rush, place some traps before B Main and consider using mollies if you hear the enemy team approaching. Having a sniper player can be super helpful when defending, especially if you pair their skills with one-way smokes or walls from Agents like Viper. And don't forget to have at least one player in B Halls because it's a hot spot for attackers.
So there you have it, folks! The ins and outs of B Site on Icebox. Remember to rely on your abilities and your team's game sense to come out on top. Good luck and have fun out there!
When you are defending, there are a few chokepoints that you’ll benefit from holding:
- B Green
- Bottom of Mid
- A Main
- A Belt
Doing so will make it a lot easier to hold your position and win the round.
With its tight corners and tough angles, Icebox is a great map for camping in Valorant. There are lots of effective hiding spots that you can use. That goes for your enemies too so be cautious when moving around. It’s always good to have a teammate covering your back.
We all know how powerful high ground can be in combat. Icebox offers many opportunities to gain the high ground position so use to your advantage. You can use the heights on A site or jump on shipping containers to gain a vertical edge over your opponent. When you have the higher ground, it’s much easier to shoot at your enemies, and it’s harder to be hit.
Whit that said, mobile agents such as Jett and Raze are great on this map.
When playing Icebox, be aware of your surroundings. The enemy might be camping around the corner or watching you, ready to snipe. Always check your back. The consequences of losing a teammate on this map can be huge.
