Complete Valorant Omen Guide

Welcome to the world of Omen, the agent who’s as mysterious as a clown in a library. Playing as Omen can be a bit tricky, but the rewards are worth it. Omen is an expert in map control and is a top pick when it comes to helping your team to push and smoke the site. With two smokes right off the bat, you can make some sweet moves and surprise your enemies in the pistol round.

And did we mention teleportation? Omen's got it all! With the ability to teleport a short range, you can appear out of nowhere, catch your opponents off guard, and put them in their place. And when things get really hairy, Omen can use his ultimate to sneak behind enemy lines and get the drop on the opposing team.

Playing as Omen is all about using your wits and creativity to outsmart your opponents. You can lurk around like a ninja, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. So if you’re looking for an agent that can bring a new level of excitement to your game, Omen is your man. Just be prepared to put in the time and effort to master his skills.

Omen Ability Preview

Here we will give you a brief look at the playstyle of Omen and we will focus on tips and an overall guide to playing with Agent Omen.

The first step in this guide is taking a look at his abilities and they are as follows:

  • Dark cover - creates a long-lasting shadow that blocks visibility and has a long range.
  • Shrouded step - a shadow walk ability, that allows you to teleport to a location, after a brief cast.
  • Paranoia -  Instantly fires shadow projectile forward, briefly reducing the vision range of players it passes through, also moves through walls.
  • From The Shadows - select to teleport anywhere on the map, appearing as a shadow on arrival and going back to the original position if killed.

What to expect when choosing to play Omen

Omen is an agent who acts in the shadows, using the darkness to defeat his enemies. He is mobile and can teleport anywhere on the map. Omen is a master of manipulation.

First off, In the list of Omen abilities we have Paranoia

Ah, Paranoia - Omen's answer to "Who turned off the lights?". This floating flashbang sends anyone caught in its radius into a world of darkness, making them practically blind. Just remember not to use it on your own team, unless you're really into sabotaging your allies. But fear not, my friend, because Paranoia has a special trick up its sleeve. It can be sent through walls and other objects, giving you the element of surprise. Plant this bad boy behind some cover and let it travel to your intended target, leaving them disoriented and ready for the taking. Just don't expect it to be fast - Paranoia moves slower than a snail on a hot summer day. Timing is key, so don't be too hasty or you'll end up the one caught in the dark. And if you can't seem to get the most out of Paranoia, don't fret. You can always use it to give your teammates an easy kill. Just send it alongside them and watch as the enemy is left stumbling around like a newborn fawn. Now that's what I call teamwork!

Omen's next ability is called Dark cover.

Welcome to the world of Omen’s smokes, where smoke screens aren't just for hiding from your parents. As Omen, you can use your signature ability, Dark Cover, to create smokes that block enemy lines of sight and give you the upper hand in combat. With two charges at the start of every round and a 35-second recharge time, you have plenty of opportunities to create chaos and confusion for your foes.

To deploy your smokes, you have two options: the default way, where you open up a map that Omen can navigate using the mouse, or the quick smoke method where you can deploy the smoke while on the run. The first option allows you to increase or decrease the range of the smoke, but be careful not to move Omen while in the map menu or you might find yourself ambushed by an enemy. The second option is perfect for when you need to deploy a smoke quickly and directly opposite your line of sight.

Now let’s talk about some of the best spots to use your smokes. Heaven is always a great spot to start, as it can prevent enemies from peeking early on. When attacking from long approaches like C on Haven, two large smokes can block off the line of sight for someone behind the crate on point and whoever is on back site, leaving the other smoke available to cover the garage. Using smokes on entry points and areas that force terrible angles for the enemy is always preferred, as it gives your team a better chance at trading out enemies and winning the round.

But wait, there's more! Did you know that you can also use Omen’s smokes to bait out enemy abilities? By blocking off areas that the enemy must push through, you can force them to use their abilities to stall or retreat, giving your team the upper hand in the fight.

So there you have it, folks. Omen’s smokes are a powerful tool in your arsenal, and with a little creativity, you can use them to dominate your enemies and secure the victory. Just make sure not to use them to hide from your responsibilities - we can’t help you with that.

The next ability in Omen's arsenal is Shrouded step

Hey there! It looks like you’re interested in mastering Omen in Valorant. Let me tell you, Omen isn’t your typical hero. He’s like the Batman of the game, able to slip in and out of places unnoticed. But don’t worry, with a little bit of practice, you can become the hero that your team needs. Here’s what you need to know.

First up, Omen’s Shrouded Step is a teleportation ability that can get you out of tight spots or help you reach higher grounds, but don’t let its expected uses limit your creativity. It leaves an audio cue behind which can be used to mess with your opponent's heads. You can use it to fake your location or make them think you're going one way, only to teleport to the other side and catch them off-guard. It’s like a magic trick, except your opponent is the one being fooled.

Pairing Shrouded Step with Omen’s smokes is another excellent tactic. You can use it to teleport inside one of your smokes and confuse your enemies about your whereabouts. The enemy will have to guess which smoke you’re in, drawing their attention away from your teammates. And hey, if you're feeling cheeky, you can use it to camp on top of a tube on Icebox or a crate that only Omen and Jett can reach. Surprise is key here, as enemies won’t expect you to be holding spots from such unique angles.

But don’t get too comfortable in one spot. You need to keep your opponents guessing, so be sure to switch up your spots and move around. Otherwise, you might find yourself in a 5 on 1 situation with nowhere to go but your little crate.

With Omen, you have to be sneaky and unpredictable. He’s like that one guy in a game of hide and seek who always manages to surprise you from an unexpected spot. So go ahead, master the art of teleportation and smoke, and become the hero your team needs.

TELEPORTATION

Ah, Omen. The master of deception and trickery. The champion of bamboozling your enemies. And we're not just talking about his edgy aesthetic, folks. Omen's toolkit is the perfect recipe for confusion, chaos, and total domination on the battlefield.

Let's start with his Shrouded Step. This bad boy teleports Omen a short distance, but the real fun comes from the audio cue it leaves behind. Sure, your enemies will know you've moved, but that's where the mind games come in. Try holding a line of sight, taking some shots from one angle, and then teleporting to the other side of the lane. Your foes will be left scratching their heads and wondering how they missed you. It's like playing hide-and-seek, but with guns and explosions.

And don't forget about Omen's smokes. Drop a couple onto a site or lane, and use Shrouded Step to teleport into one of them. Your enemies will have to guess which cloud you're in, which means they're not looking at your allies. It's like a magic trick, but instead of pulling a rabbit out of a hat, you're pulling a victory out of thin air.

But wait, there's more! On maps with teleporters, you can use your abilities to fake out your enemies. The only problem is that abilities don't make the same sound as players. That's where the creative use of Shrouded Step comes in. Jump and cast it in mid-air, and you'll fly through the teleporter, giving off the authentic sound of a player entering it. Just make sure your origin point is covered, or you might end up as a sitting duck.

So, if you want to be the master of mind games, the lord of misdirection, and the king of confusion, Omen is your guy. Just remember to switch up your spots, keep your enemies guessing, and always be one step ahead.

From the Shadows could be the most important ability.

Ah, Omen's ultimate ability, the "Shadow Walk" - one of the coolest in the game! With a cooldown of 6 points, it lets you teleport anywhere on the map, making it the perfect tool for flanking or retreating when things get a little too hot to handle.

But be warned, before you materialize at your chosen destination, an ominous silhouette of Omen appears, which the enemy can destroy if they catch it in time. So, it's best to use it wisely, and perhaps not in the open like a sitting duck.

One neat trick with the "Shadow Walk" is to use it to counter a pesky Sova who's ulting your team. With Omen's ability to obscure the map, Sova's hunt for prey will be nothing but a wild goose chase! Plus, the audio cue that comes with using the "Shadow Walk" can also distract the enemy team, giving you and your allies the element of surprise.

Just remember that using this ultimate ability will obscure the map for everyone, including your own team, so it's not something to play around with. Use it wisely and for maximum impact, and you'll be teleporting your way to victory in no time!

Strategies

BUY STRATEGY

Ah, yes, the economical Omen. While his abilities are slick, the best part is that they don't cost you a cent. That's right, folks, Omen comes fully stocked with Dark Cover at the start of every round. And let's be real, unless you're going for some next-level plays, you won't need anything else for the pistol round. So why not use those extra credits to buy yourself a nice little Frenzy or light shield?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "But ChatGPT, what do I do after the pistol round?" Fear not, my friends, for the Stinger and light shield combo will keep you ahead of the game. And sure, you can buy more abilities at this point, but don't get too trigger happy with them. They're not spammable and should be saved for when the situation calls for them.

But once you've amassed enough for the rifles, it's time to make a decision. Will you go for the high-risk, high-reward play with the Operator like Jett? Well, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to give the other team an expensive gift. Omen lacks Jett's escape capabilities, so don't let your ambition get the best of you.

MAP STRATEGY

Let's talk about Omen. As a controller, his role is pretty clear: don't be a hero. Seriously, if you're charging into the fray with this guy, you're going to have a bad time. Paranoia can work wonders for pushing, but it's just as effective at setting up your teammates for success. Don't be greedy, folks.

Now, when it comes to using Omen's smokes, you'll want to be strategic. On defense, you can preemptively smoke commonly peeked points to give your teammates a chance to set up and take the advantage in a fight. On offense, dropping a quick smoke on a spot that's being pushed can slow down the enemy's momentum and give you a chance to take control.

Speaking of taking control, don't forget about Omen's shrouded step. Surprise your enemies by teleporting to high ground spots they wouldn't expect. And when you're using your ultimate, don't get too predictable. Sure, teleporting to spawn is tempting, but sometimes the hidden nooks and crannies of the map can offer more cover and less predictability.

When playing with Omen, stick to the backline and let your duelists and initiator do the heavy lifting. And if you end up with bomb responsibility, use your smokes and ultimate to control sight lines and make your way to the objective. Trust us, your team will thank you.

Lastly, keep your eyes peeled for opportunities to exploit and pounce on your enemies. Just like with Jett, every map has its secrets and it's up to you to find them. So go out there and make Omen proud!
