Valorant Phoenix Guide

Valorant is Riot’s brand-new competitive tactical first-person shooter. The game is intense fast-paced and hypercompetitive and combines many elements for the most popular FPS games such as CSGO, Overwatch, and more. The actual gameplay is separated into two phases – offensive and defensive where you as an agent have to plant or defuse a bomb also known as the Spike. Similar to CSGO you win rounds by planting on defusing the spike and the team with the most wins is Victorious. One of the key features that separate Valorant from the other tactical shooters are its agents. They are the playable characters in the game and each possesses a different style and personality that can be expressed through his different abilities. One of those agents is Phoenix and this guide prime objective is to help you understand his abilities, playstyle and help you with some useful tips.

Character Overview

Ah, Phoenix, the fiery agent of Valorant! With his arsenal of curveball flashes and damage-over-time abilities, he's the perfect character for clearing out pesky enemies who like to hide and take potshots at you. But there's more to Phoenix than meets the eye, and our guide will make sure you're ready to use all four of his abilities to their fullest potential.

With his flame wall ability, Phoenix can create a wall of fire that damages any enemy that passes through it. It's perfect for blocking off sightlines or forcing your enemies to take a detour. And don't forget about his signature ability, hot hands, which unleashes a wave of fire that heals you if you're standing in it.

But that's not all! Phoenix's ultimate, run it back, allows him to travel back in time to his previous location and health. It's perfect for surprising your enemies and catching them off guard. And of course, his curveball flashes are a great way to temporarily blind your enemies and give your team an opening to attack.

So, whether you're a seasoned Phoenix player or just starting out, our guide will help you become a true master of the flames and dominate your opponents in Valorant!

Abilities Overview

Before we start with the in-depth tips lets have a look at the Phoenix abilities and how they work:

Hot Hands - Equip a fireball. Fire to throw a fireball that explodes after a set amount of time or upon hitting the ground, creating a lingering fire zone that damages enemies.

Hot Hands is basically a Molotov cocktail grenade. You can activate this ability by pressing E and you can throw it with your left mouse button. This is one of the more versatile Phoenix abilities as you can use this for both offensive and defensive purposes. By throwing this grenade you will create a pool of fire that lasts for about 4 seconds and will damage anyone who steps in it. What a lot of people don’t know is your Hot Hands will also heal you if you sanding in it, but it will only heal you and not your teammates. This makes it a way more versatile than a normal Molotov grenade and will give you a choice on how to use it. You can heal yourself for about 50 HP or try to do some damage to your opponents. On top of that this ability is a free one and you don’t need to buy it in the buying stage of the round.

Hot Hands, Hot Tips: How to Master Phoenix's Fire

Phoenix is more than just a pretty face, folks. The Valorant agent brings the heat with his fiery Hot Hands and other damaging abilities, making him a force to be reckoned with. But before you go charging in like a wildfire, let our guide help you maximize the use of all four of Phoenix's abilities.

First up, Hot Hands. The flames left behind by this ability may only last for four seconds, but they can heal you for up to 45 health during that time. And while you can't throw Hot Hands very far, it does bounce off walls - perfect for confined spaces. But be warned: there's no need to use the underhand throw option, as Hot Hands activates the moment it touches a surface.

Don't expect to hear enemies being damaged by Hot Hands either, as there's no sound cue. And while your own Hot Hands can heal you, an enemy Phoenix's fire will hurt you - so avoid standing in it like a marshmallow over a campfire.

Finally, the predictable drop and velocity of Hot Hands means you can learn line-ups, like those shared by Valorant streamer Kephrii on his YouTube channel. With these tips in hand, you'll be burning up the competition in no time.

Blaze - Equip a flame wall. Fire to create a line of flames that moves forward creating a wall that blocks vision and damages players passing through it. Hold Fire to bend the wall in the direction of your crosshair.

Blaze is a firewall that can be used in multiple situations. Its main use is to block the enemy team's view. It’s very good in situations where your enemies are shouting you and your teammates from multiple angles and you need cover to change positions. They however will be able to shot and walk through the wall but crossing will damage them. Like Hot Hands, this ability will heal you if you stand in it. You will also be able to curve the wall by holding your left mouse button and curve in the desired direction. That might be handy if you need to block off a specific area.

Phoenix is a spicy agent with abilities that can burn through the competition. With his Hot Hands, you can set a fire that heals you for up to 45 health in just 4 seconds. Be careful not to throw it too far, though. It drops like a hot potato after a certain amount of travel time. But don't worry, it bounces off walls, so you can use it to ignite your foes in tight spaces.

Don't bother with the underhand throw option - it won't give you any extra benefits. And don't wait for the sound of enemies being singed - it's as quiet as a mouse. But you can learn some cool line-ups from Kephrii's YouTube channel to perfect your aim.

Blaze wall is another of Phoenix's fiery tricks. It lasts for six seconds and heals you at the same rate as Hot Hands, up to 69 health points. You can curve Blaze sharply around corners, but keep it simple, a straight wall can be just as effective.

Don't expect Blaze to hide you for long, but it's a great way to mess with your opponent's head. They won't know where you'll pop up, which often leads to them retreating or finding cover. The wall doesn't hurt much, so enemies may try to cross it, but usually they won't risk it. So, Blaze is an excellent way to zone out your opponents.

Remember that you can't hear when enemies are getting barbequed by your Blaze wall. And pay attention to the angle you throw it at. The wall appears at the shadow created by your throwable, so throwing it over a building will create a wall that intersects with the other side of the building. But throwing it at the building will only create a wall up to its edge.

Now that you know how to light up your opponents with Phoenix's abilities, get out there and show them who's boss.

Curveball - Equip a flare orb that takes a curving path and detonates shortly after throwing, impairing vision. Fire to curve the flare orb to the left, detonating and blinding any player who sees the orb. Alternate fire to curve the flare orb to the right.

As a dualist in Valorant, your primary goal is to initiate frights and as such you need to have the means to do so. Curveball is a prime example of an entry frag ability that will help you with that task. Activating it will summon a fireball that acts as a flash grenade. It will blind your opponents for a short duration and will help you engage a fight without your enemies have a chance at shooting at you. The key feature here is that you can curve the direction you want your flashbang to go by pressing either the left or right mouse button. That will help you throw it without giving you opponents chance at shooting at you and will give you a fighting chance in some 2 vs 1 situations.

Phoenix has a fiery ability called Curveball that can really light up your enemies. But beware, it's a tricky little bugger that can blind you if you're not careful.

Despite its short range and lifespan, Curveball can bounce off walls like a wild child on a trampoline. But don't bounce it too close to yourself, or you might find yourself with a face full of fire.

The flash of the Curveball is line-of-sight, meaning if there's nothing blocking the way between the flash and an enemy's face, they'll be blinded. This is similar to Breach's Flashpoint ability, so if you've played with Breach before, you'll feel right at home.

You can throw Curveball up or down, regardless of its curve. This can be handy on maps like Split where you can toss it into vents to catch enemies off guard. But remember, players can look away to shorten the duration of the blind, so don't get too excited.

If an enemy gets blinded by Curveball, they might start firing in your direction. So be careful when you peek out after throwing it, or you might just get lit up like a birthday candle.

To minimize the risk of blinding yourself and your teammates, try to throw Curveball from a safe distance. That way, enemies will have less time to react before they're blinded, and your teammates won't be cursing your name for blinding them.

After throwing Curveball, you can quickly switch to your primary weapon and start shooting. But don't be too hasty, or you'll be predictable and vulnerable to enemy fire.

Some Phoenix players have a habit of looking away from their own Curveball after throwing it, just in case they accidentally blind themselves. It's not a bad idea at first, but as you get more comfortable with the ability, you'll want to unlearn that behavior and trust your skills.

Lastly, enemies can't hear Phoenix's finger-snap before throwing Curveball, so you can keep your fiery tactics a secret. Shh, it'll be our little secret.

So there you have it, Phoenix's Curveball can be a tricky little devil, but with a little finesse and a lot of fire, you can light up your enemies like a bonfire on the beach.

Run It Back - Instantly place a marker at Phoenix's location. While this ability is active, dying or allowing the timer to expire will end this ability and bring Phoenix back to this location with full health.

This is Phoenix's ultimate ability and will serve your entry fragger role very well. When activated you will be basically invincible for about 7 seconds. A timer will appear on your screen that shows how much time you have with your ultimate active. When the time ends or you’re killed you will be teleported back to the place where you activated this ability. With this, you can make a push or a risky play without a downside. If you get shot down you will be just spaned back where you start your Run It Back.

Hey there, let me give you some tips on how to use Phoenix's ultimate ability, Run It Back, in a fun and informative way.

First things first, Run It Back only lasts for 10 seconds, so don't waste it by using it when you're nowhere near the action. You don't want to run out of time before you even get to the party! Instead, save it for those moments when you're stuck in a stalemate at a chokepoint and need to break free.

The good news is, while using Run It Back, you can still use all your regular abilities as normal, so make sure to throw a Curveball to blind your enemies before you push. Just watch out for those pre-firing enemies, or you'll be sent back to your starting position without even getting a chance to show off your moves.

One thing to note is that there's a long wind-down animation after you return to your initial position, so make sure you're in a safe location before using Run It Back. You don't want to be caught with your pants down and your ultimate on cooldown.

And while you won't leave a body behind while using Run It Back, unfortunately, you will lose any Armor you had on you once you return. But don't worry, you'll be returned with a guaranteed 100 health, even if you were "killed" while using your ult.

Finally, a sneaky map-specific tip is to activate Run It Back from inside a teleporter room. Not only does this allow you to scout out the area with relative safety, but it also ensures your safety once you return. Just make sure to shout "surprise!" when you reappear, or your enemies might not appreciate the joke.

So there you have it, my tips on how to use Phoenix's Run It Back ability. Just remember, use it wisely, stay safe, and have fun!
