Destiny 2 Boosting

Destiny 2's Renegades expansion drops with a massive haul of new gear. You're looking at somewhere between 35 and 40 weapons total, including three new Exotics and an entirely new SMG archetype. The new Equilibrium Dungeon, Trials of Osiris, seasonal activities, and the Renegades destination all have their own loot pools to chase. Renegades launches December 2, 2025 on all platforms.

This guide covers every confirmed weapon, organized by source. You'll find perk pools, archetypes, elements, and solid roll recommendations to help you figure out what's worth grinding for.

New Exotic Weapons

Three Exotics arrive with Renegades, each bringing something different to your builds.

Exotic
Praxic Blade
Weapon Type: Sword
Ammo Type: Special
Element: Kinetic
Ranged Weapon:

You can throw the Praxic Blade, and it'll seek out multiple targets on its own. Hit the attack button to recall it mid-flight. Hold the throw for a charged attack that sends the blade in a straight line toward wherever you're aiming.

Cormorant Reversal:

While guarding, incoming projectiles get converted into bolts that reflect back toward your aim point.

Drops from: Exotic Quest

Praxic Blade is a Special ammo sword, which is pretty rare in Destiny 2. You'll get it through a dedicated quest, and it delivers that Star Wars lightsaber fantasy Bungie's been teasing. You get offensive flexibility through the throwable attack and defensive utility from projectile reflection. The charged throw works great when you need precision over the seeking behavior.

Destiny 2 Renegades Expansion
Destiny 2 Renegades brings Star Wars-inspired weapons to the franchise
Exotic
Service of Luzaku
Weapon Type: Combat Bow
Ammo Type: Heavy
Element: Solar
Dichotomous Thinking:

Landing hits builds a restorative charge. Hip fire at allies when charged to heal them without spending ammo, and the shot refills your magazine from reserves. Heal teammates quickly and you'll get bonus weapon damage plus Threadlings spawning from your allies.

Meaning-Making:

Kills create a Threadling nest that keeps spawning Threadlings over time. If you get a kill near an existing nest, you spawn a Threadling directly instead of creating another nest.

Drops from: Season Pass

The ammo-free ally healing combined with Threadling generation makes this bow valuable in fireteam content. Just know it competes with Qua Vinctus IV (the new Strand machine gun from Crucible) for your Heavy slot in Strand builds.

Exotic
Heirloom
Weapon Type: Machine Gun
Ammo Type: Heavy
Element: Strand
Bolt Thrower:

High-powered explosive bolt fire. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.

Big Game Hunter:

Aim down sights for a bit to overcharge your next bolt. Each charge level increases damage and blast radius.

Drops from: To be confirmed

Built-in Unstoppable makes Heirloom solid for Nightfalls and other Champion-heavy content. The charge mechanic rewards patience with bigger explosions and harder hits.

Equilibrium Dungeon Weapons

The new Equilibrium Dungeon drops six Legendary weapons. Dungeons remain one of the most reliable farming methods in Destiny 2 since each encounter has specific loot tables. You can run the same encounter repeatedly for whatever weapon you want. Most dungeons limit rewards to one clear per character per week, though some exceptions exist.

Pro Tip
Dungeon encounters have specific loot tables, so you can target-farm the exact weapon you want by repeating specific encounters.

Clown Cartridge or Ambitious Assassin paired with Reservoir Burst allows multiple high-damage shots through magazine overflow. Psi Aeterna IV (Pulse Rifle)

Weapon Stats
Archetype
Micro-Missile Frame (200 RPM)
Element
Arc
Ammo Type
Special
Ammo Reserve Nerfs
Bungie announced ammo reserve nerfs to this archetype rather than damage nerfs. You can offset this through ammo regeneration builds.

Psi Aeterna IV is an Arc rocket-assisted pulse rifle, the same archetype that dominated the meta recently. This archetype fires explosive projectiles and uses Special ammo, working more like a rocket launcher than a traditional pulse rifle.

Column 3 Perks Column 4 Perks
Blast Disruptor, Eddy Current, Beacon Rounds, Stats for All, Reverberation, Trickle Charge Collective Pugilism, Elemental Honing, Jolting Feedback, One for All, Rolling Storm, Adrenaline Junkie

Trickle Charge with Rolling Storm or Jolting Feedback creates Arc synergy where bolt charge mechanics partially reload the magazine. This works well with the Renegades artifact mod "Dielectric," which grants bolt charge when defeating Arc-debuffed targets. Reverberation maximizes blast radius for better area damage. Elemental Honing remains strong for elemental build synergy.

Evening SI4 (Sidearm)

Heal Clip with Incandescent gives healing and scorch spread for Solar builds. Burning Ambition adds more scorch stacking, though you may need to test scorch application rates on this archetype. For PvP, Lone Wolf with Headseeker maximizes damage when you're away from teammates. Sword Logic boosts damage based on Glaive-style melee kills.

Something Something (Sniper Rifle)

Weapon Stats
Archetype
Aggressive (72 RPM)
Element
Kinetic
Ammo Type
Special

Yes, the weapon is literally named "Something Something." This Kinetic Aggressive sniper works similarly to Succession from Deep Stone Crypt.

Column 3 Perks Column 4 Perks
Triple Tap, Snapshot, Bewildering Burst, Stopping Power, Discord, No Distractions Elemental Honing, Adhesive Ordinance, Box Breathing, Kinetic Trimmers, Redirection, All-Star
New Perks
Adhesive Ordinance: Collecting ammo loads an explosive round that sticks to surfaces. It detonates shortly after impact and applies exhaust.

Stopping Power: Kinetic ordinance staggers combatants more easily and grants increased target acquisition and damage against low-health targets at improved range.

All-Star: Collecting ammo loads the weapon from reserves and boosts damage and reload speed briefly.

This sniper synergizes strongly with Renegades artifact mods for kinetic weapons: Kinetic Synthesis (generates unique ammo bricks granting kinetic, special, and heavy ammo progress), Snipers Meditation (damage buff), and Kinetic Rupture (kinetic damage against powerful combatants creates explosions that stagger). Bewildering Burst with Kinetic Trimmers or Stopping Power with All-Star both work well with the new kinetic-focused perks.

Seasonal Weapons (Lawless Frontier)

The seasonal activity drops four weapons as part of the Lawless Frontier content.

Monody-44 (Fusion Rifle)

Pinnacle Ops activities drop four weapons, including several returning favorites.

A Good Shout (Combat Bow)

Weapon Stats
Archetype
High-Impact Heavy
Element
Void
Ammo Type
Heavy

A Good Shout is the first Void Heavy Combat Bow. Heavy bows deal solid damage and let you recover ammo by picking up missed arrows.

Column 3 Perks Column 4 Perks
Bolt Scavenger, Built to Blast, Withering Gaze, Repulsor Brace, Envious Arsenal, No Distractions Butterfly, Box Breathing, High Ground, Destabilizing Rounds, Rampage, Demoralize
New Perks
Butterfly: Aim at a target for a short period without firing, and your target will explode when you get the final blow. Stop aiming to reset the timer. The enhanced version reduces activation time. Testing showed around 630 damage explosions against red bar enemies.

Built to Blast: Grants ammo assist, stability, and flinch resistance while you have Woven Mail, Frost Armor, or Void Overshield. This synergizes well with Hunter builds that generate Void Overshield.

Withering Gaze with Butterfly or Destabilizing Rounds works great. The weaken-applying perks synergize with Renegades artifact mods: "Power from the Pain" (rapid final blows against weakened combatants grants Devour) and "Void Infestation" (defeating weakened targets spawns tracking projectiles that weaken others).

Firefly with Tear delivers explosion damage with severing blasts that spread further because of Firefly's area of effect. Slice applies sever more directly if you prefer that approach. Shoot to Loot with Explosive Payload or Tear gives utility with damage. For PvP, Fragile Focus with Keep Away maximizes range bonuses (potentially reaching max range). Slideshot with Explosive Payload mirrors successful combinations from other hand cannons. Lone Wolf with Keep Away or Explosive Payload rewards solo play.

The Martlet (Pulse Rifle)

Weapon Stats
Archetype
Lightweight (450 RPM)
Element

Column 3 Perks Column 4 Perks
Stopping Power, Shoot to Loot, Lone Wolf, Rangefinder, Attrition Orbs, Rapid Hit, Impromptu Ammunition Firefly, Headseeker, All-Star, Kinetic Trimmers, Master of Arms, Desperado, Bewildering Burst

This weapon doesn't have an origin trait. Instead, it comes with selectable stocks, similar to Rose. Rangefinder is getting a buff in Renegades.

For PvE, Shoot to Loot or Attrition Orbs with Master of Arms or All-Star work well. Rapid Hit with Bewildering Burst is solid. Impromptu Ammunition with All-Star creates a loop where collecting ammo increases damage while autoloading the weapon. In PvP, Rangefinder (post-buff) with Headseeker, Kinetic Trimmers, Master of Arms, or Desperado all work. Lone Wolf with Desperado rewards solo play with increased fire rate.

This classic Adaptive auto rifle returns to the Pinnacle Ops loot pool.

How to Get Weapons

Understanding weapon sources helps you farm efficiently for the rolls you want.

Raids and Dungeons

Raids and dungeons offer the most straightforward target-farming in Destiny 2. Each encounter has specific loot tables, so you can run the same encounter repeatedly for particular weapons. Most raids limit rewards to one clear per character per week (three chances weekly maximum). Some dungeons, like Grasp of Avarice, can be farmed indefinitely.

Trials of Osiris

Despite its difficulty reputation, Trials of Osiris has excellent weapons and arguably the best target-farming system in the game. The loot system has improved significantly, and Trials: Freelance gives solo-queue players an option when it's active.

Seasonal Activities

Each season introduces multiple activities with associated weapon pools. Seasonal weapons tend to be above average since Bungie designs them to encourage Season Pass purchases. With seasonal content lasting an entire year, numerous activities and weapons remain available throughout.

Destination Weapons

Specific destinations have exclusive weapons through bounties, missions, and events. The Renegades destination, Europa, the Moon, the Dreaming City, and the Leviathan each have dedicated farming methods.

Exotic Quests

Many of the best weapons require completing specific quests. Some older Exotic quests have been vaulted, with those weapons now available at the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower (commonly called the Exotic Kiosk).

Other Sources

Standard Crucible and Competitive playlists drop specific weapons. Iron Banner uses a token-based reward system with a large loot pool (18 weapons plus armor), making specific weapon farming difficult. Four annual events (The Dawning, Festival of the Lost, Guardian Games, Solstice) offer limited-time weapons. The World Loot Pool contains many weapons that only drop randomly, making targeted farming nearly impossible.

Artifact Synergies

The Renegades artifact includes several mods that synergize with new weapons:

Arc Synergies
  • Dielectric: Defeating Arc-debuffed targets grants bolt charge. Rapidly defeating Arc-debuffed targets spawns an orb of power and heals a small portion of health.
  • Elemental Orbs (Arc): Fifth column mod for Arc orb generation.
Kinetic Synergies
  • Kinetic Synthesis: Generates unique ammo bricks granting kinetic weapon ammo plus special and heavy ammo progress.
  • Snipers Meditation: Damage buff for snipers.
  • Kinetic Rupture: Kinetic weapon damage against powerful combatants creates kinetic ruptures that stagger.
Void Synergies
Power from the Pain: Rapid final blows against weakened combatants grants Devour.

Void Infestation: Defeating weakened targets spawns tracking projectiles that weaken other targets.

Summary

Renegades delivers an extensive weapon refresh with new archetypes, returning favorites, and three distinct Exotic weapons. Key highlights:

  • Praxic Blade: The Special ammo exotic sword with throwable and reflective capabilities
  • Service of Luzaku: A support-oriented Heavy Bow with healing and Threadling generation
  • Heirloom: Anti-Champion machine gun with charge mechanics
  • Peculiar Charm: The first Aggressive Burst SMG archetype
  • Psi Aeterna IV: An Arc rocket-assisted pulse rifle joining the dominant archetype
  • Heat Weapons: Six new destination weapons with Star Wars blaster aesthetics
  • Returning Favorites: Riptide, Horror's Least, The Immortal, Astral Horizon, Cataphract GL3, Oxygen SR3, and Hawthorne's Field-Forged Shotgun

With somewhere between 35-40 weapons available, vault space may become a concern, though Bungie is adding 300 additional vault slots. Focus your farming on activities offering your preferred weapon types and elements, and use the target-farming systems in Trials of Osiris and dungeons for efficient loot acquisition.

Good luck with your loot chase, Guardian.
