Valorant Raze Guide

Since its release date on 02.06.2020, Valorant is becoming one of the most popular fast passed first-person shooters. That’s probably because it’s so similar to titles like CSGO and Overwatch but at the same time gives us a brand new way to look at those games' key features. The game mechanics feels like you are plating Counter-Strike but at the same time your agents have abilities similar to OW, but those skills are only complementary to your gunplay. Today we will look at one of those agents and his skills and will give you some tips and show you some tricks on how to use them.

Character Overview

Ah, Raze, the queen of explosions and destruction in Valorant. This feisty duelist is not for the faint of heart. To use her to her fullest potential, you'll need courage, creativity, and a high tolerance for adrenaline. With Raze, it's always go big or go home.

What makes Raze so explosive, you ask? Well, her abilities, for one. With her trusty Boom Bot, she can scout ahead and deal hefty damage to any unlucky enemies in its path. Her Blast Pack lets her launch herself high into the air, perfect for reaching hard-to-reach places or surprising foes with a sudden aerial attack.

But the real star of the show is her ultimate ability: the Showstopper. This rocket launcher can take out multiple enemies at once, leaving nothing but rubble and chaos in its wake. It's the perfect tool for clearing out a heavily fortified site or turning the tide in a tight match.

In short, if you're a duelist who loves nothing more than a good explosion (or ten), then Raze is the agent for you. Just remember to keep your cool and stay focused, because with great power comes great responsibility. And also, probably a lot of collateral damage.

Raze Abilities Overview

Meet Raze, the explosive Duelist of Valorant! With a kit that's as straightforward as a hammer, you'd think playing her would be a blast. And you're right! Because with Raze, you get to blow things up and put enemies down in a jiffy.

Her abilities are pretty much what you'd expect from someone who loves to make things go boom: a set of grenades, a C4 that she can control, a rocket launcher that hits like a truck, and a passive ability that lets her carry more explosives. It's no wonder why Raze is called the most explosive agent in Valorant!

But just because her kit is easy to understand doesn't mean that mastering Raze is a walk in the park. There are plenty of ways to use her abilities creatively, and to maximize their potential, you'll need courage, strategy, and, of course, a bit of luck.

If you're a Duelist with an insatiable hunger for action and want to add more bodies to your count list, Raze is the agent for you. Sure, playing her is simple, but if you want to go from a Raze casual to a Raze main, you'll need to put in the work. So get out there, blow things up, and show your enemies what you're made of!

Paint Shells - Hold on to your helmets, FPS fanatics! Raze's Paint Shells ability is one you'll recognize from classic games like CS:GO and COD. It's like a grenade, but with some Riot Games flair added to it.

The Paint Shells detonate upon impact, causing a massive explosion that has two types of damage. First, there's the initial blast damage, and then there are the sub-munitions that explode after the main blast. Ouch!

But wait, there's more! Just like Raze's other abilities, the damage caused by the Paint Shells depends on the radius of the explosion. If you're not careful, you could end up hurting your teammates, so make sure to use this ability wisely.

Boom BotRaze's first ability is called the Boom Bot, and it's essentially a scout on wheels. You can use it to get a sneak peek of what's ahead and limit your exposure when entering sites. The Boom Bot will go in a straight line, but it can bounce off walls, so you'll need to be a bit of a math whiz to figure out the best route for it.

Once the Bot spots an enemy in its frontal cone, it locks onto them and chases them down like a heat-seeking missile. When it catches up, it explodes in their face like a piñata filled with TNT. The Bot can keep going for up to 10 seconds, but it only has 100 HP, so it's not exactly indestructible. If the enemies focus their fire on it, they can take it down before it reaches its target.

The damage it deals upon explosion depends on the radius, ranging from 30 to 80 damage. If an enemy is at the far end of the radius, they'll only take a minimum of 30 damage, but if they're within the blast zone, they'll take the full 80. So, be careful where you position the Bot, or you might accidentally blow yourself up. And trust us, that's not a good look.

Blast PackAh, the Blast Pack or as some of us like to call it, the "Satchel." This ability is a bit trickier to use and takes some practice, but trust me, it's worth it. So, the Satchel attaches itself to the surface it's thrown onto and goes boom after 5 seconds, or if you're feeling trigger happy, you can detonate it earlier by clicking the ability hotkey again. Now, the initial damage it does to enemies is nothing to write home about, but the damage to objects is a whopping 600! That's some serious explosive power.

But wait, there's more! The real gem of this ability is the movement boost it gives you upon explosion. That's right, it'll blow you away in the opposite direction, which can come in handy for:

Jumping walls like a pro Getting to hard-to-reach places Gaining the high ground advantage over your enemies, which is crucial when using your ultimate (but we'll get to that later).

So, don't underestimate the power of the Satchel, it's a game-changer if used correctly.

Showstopper Get ready to unleash your inner action hero because Raze's ultimate ability, Showstopper, is a total game-changer! Think of it as a bazooka on steroids! Once activated, you'll get to wield a rocket launcher and blow everything to smithereens. It's like bringing a nuclear bomb to a knife fight.

The rocket deals massive damage that ranges from 30 to 150, depending on how close your enemies are to the epicenter of the explosion. And if you're feeling a bit extra, you can even use the blast to launch yourself backward for a quick escape or repositioning.

But be careful not to let your excitement get the best of you, as this ability can harm your teammates as well. So, make sure you don't accidentally blow them up along with your enemies.

It takes some serious skill to use Showstopper effectively, so practice makes perfect. And trust us, when you finally master this ability, you'll feel like a certified badass.

Tips & Tricks

ATTACKS

When it comes to Raze's offensive playstyle, there's no need to overthink it. As a Duelist, she's best used for her upfront abilities, rather than sneaking around and lurking like some sort of ninja. Let's face it, with an arsenal like hers, there's no need to be sneaky.

Instead, focus on sticking with your team, and using your abilities to clear a path to the objective. Your Boom bot is particularly handy for scouting ahead, allowing you to limit your exposure and catch any enemies off guard. Plus, it's always satisfying to see it explode in someone's face.

If you're worried about enemy camping, don't be afraid to lob your Paint Shells and flush them out of hiding. With Raze on your team, there's no need to play it safe. Just charge ahead and let the explosives do the talking.

DEFENSE

So, you want to know how to use Raze on defense? Well, don't worry because we've got you covered! While Raze is primarily an offensive agent, she can still hold her own when it comes to defending sites. With her trusty Boom Bot, she can slow down the enemy's advances and gain valuable intel on their whereabouts. And let's not forget about her Satchel, which can be used to pull off some sneaky plays and get to spots that the enemy would never expect.

When it comes to defending, it's best to stick with your team and play a more supportive role. Let your sentinels and controllers take the lead, while you use your abilities to cover their backs and provide backup when needed. And if the enemy does manage to push through, don't be afraid to use your Paint Shells to deal some damage and slow them down.

With a little bit of practice and some teamwork, you'll be defending sites like a pro in no time. And who knows, maybe your team will be the ones taking home the trophy at this year's World Cup!

SPLIT MAP

Listen up, fellow Valorant players! Let's talk about Raze's favorite stomping ground, Split! Although it's currently out of rotation, don't despair because eventually, it'll be back with a vengeance. And when that day comes, make sure you're ready to pick Raze because she's the queen of this map!

Split is a tricky map, and it favors the Defenders, so it's crucial to have a strong Duelist on your team to make the attack more effective. Luckily, Raze is more than up to the task. Without any flashy abilities, Raze might seem like a plain Jane, but don't be fooled! She's perfect for entering mid, which is the key to success on Split. And let's be real, who doesn't love a good mid entry?

Plus, unlike some other maps, there are plenty of ways to enter mid on Split, so Raze has ample opportunities to show off her skills. And who wouldn't want to do that? So, when Split eventually makes its way back into the rotation, remember this - If you want to make the most of this map, pick Raze!

FRACTURE MAP

Looking for a map where you can blow things up and cause some chaos? Look no further than Fracture, which is one of Raze's top maps. This map allows for easy rotation from side to side, which is great for Raze as she is a bit slow in her rotations. Lurking isn't really an option in Fracture either, as the meta demands players to push together with their team, even in lower ranks. That's why Raze's explosive playstyle is a perfect fit for this map.

So, if you're a fan of creating chaos and disrupting the enemy team, Fracture might be the perfect map for you and Raze. Just remember to stay with your team and push forward to the sites. And don't worry, with Raze's arsenal of explosive abilities, you'll be sure to make an impact.

BIND MAP

Welcome, my dear reader, to another Raze map analysis! Today we'll be discussing the third and final map that we think Raze is particularly great on: Bind. This map is a fan favorite due to its smaller size and teleport features, which means that rotations are quick and easy. And what does that mean for Raze, you might ask? Well, it means that her sluggish movement won't hold her back when she needs to switch sides in a jiffy.

But that's not all. Bind has a bunch of choke points that can be easily cleared with Raze's Boom Bot or Grenade. This makes pushing with her a walk in the park compared to other duelists who don't have her explosive abilities. And let's be real, who doesn't love a good explosion? So if you're looking to cause some chaos on the map, Raze might just be the Agent for you on Bind.
