Helldivers 2 Boosting

Arrowhead Game Studios has announced the Siege Breakers premium Warbond for Helldivers 2, launching February 3, 2026. The update focuses on breaking through fortified enemy positions with an arsenal headlined by an explosive sledgehammer and a returning fan-favorite laser weapon.

A cryptic teaser at the trailer's end has the community buzzing, too. It appears to hint at the return of the Cyborgs, a terrifying faction from the original Helldivers.

This marks the second Warbond of 2026, following the stealth-focused Redacted Regiment. Where that update emphasized quiet kills and suppressed weapons, Siege Breakers swings hard in the opposite direction with pure explosive chaos.

Full Warbond Contents

Katherine Baskin, Social Media and Community Manager at Arrowhead, laid out the Warbond's theme on the PlayStation Blog. "Helldivers, do you ever find the squad standing before a towering foe with impenetrable fortifications and wish you had something to smash through them? The Ministry of Defense has just the Warbond for you. Let's get to smashing, divers!"

The complete package includes one primary weapon, three stratagems, one throwable, two armor sets, two banner and cape combos, one emote, one player title, and a pattern set for vehicles and equipment.

Everything in Siege Breakers:

  • Primary Weapon: LAS-16 Trident (Redesigned)
  • Stratagem: CQC-20 Breaching Hammer
  • Stratagem: GL-28 Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher
  • Stratagem: EAT-411 Leveller

LAS-16 Trident Returns

The LAS-16 Trident makes its comeback from the original Helldivers, now packing a serious upgrade. This shotgun-style laser weapon fires six beams instead of the original three, effectively doubling its offensive output.

"This big, bold, and shotgun-like updated classic fires six beams compared to the original's three! Nothing's gonna stand in the LAS-16 Trident's way," reads the official description.

Like other laser weapons, the Trident runs on heat management rather than traditional ammo. Players can fire indefinitely as long as they don't overheat, making it especially effective on cold maps where heat sinks recharge faster. This gives the weapon essentially unlimited firepower for players who manage their heat properly.

Arrowhead hasn't confirmed if the weapon will launch with attachment support. Some laser weapons in Helldivers 2 didn't get attachments right away, so players may need to wait for future updates before customizing their Trident.

The return of the LAS-16 Trident continues Arrowhead's pattern of bringing back classic weapons from the first game while boosting them for Helldivers 2's evolved combat. Veterans of the original will recognize the weapon, but the doubled beam count means it hits much harder than they remember.

CQC-20 Breaching Hammer

The CQC-20 Breaching Hammer is the star of this Warbond. This sledgehammer works two ways: swing it for traditional melee damage, or attach an explosive charge to the head for devastating close-range blasts.

"This sledgehammer can do straight smashing, or it can have an explosive charge attached to its head to drive the point home," says the official description.

Trailer footage shows Helldivers smashing Automaton enemies with the explosive hammer head, leaving dramatic blasts in their wake. Quick reload animations keep the action fast and cinematic. The weapon looks fun to use and functions as a genuine menace in melee encounters.

The whole concept is peak Helldivers absurdity. Strapping explosives to a long stick and swinging it point-blank at enemies is exactly what you'd expect from Super Earth's canonically underregulated R&D division. The idea of putting a charge on the end of a hammer and then swinging it at somebody at close range is the kind of ill-advised nonsense that makes Helldivers weapons so memorable. Personal safety clearly wasn't part of the design brief.

The hammer could prove effective against heavily armored targets like Automaton Devastators, Hulks, or even Chargers. Its true power level won't be clear until players get their hands on it, but the footage suggests it packs serious punch.

Melee weapons in Helldivers 2 have historically been somewhat gimmicky, often requiring more effort than ranged options for similar results. The explosive charge mechanic could change that equation, giving players a reason to get up close beyond just style points.

GL-28 Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher

The GL-28 Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher delivers continuous explosive firepower without the constant reloading. The belt-fed system lets players fire grenades in an uninterrupted barrage, functioning as a grenade launcher variant of heavy support weapons like the M-1000 Maxigun.

This stratagem requires a backpack component, similar to how other heavy support weapons in Helldivers 2 operate. That's a fair trade for the sheer volume of explosives players can put downrange.

The ability to pump out grenades nonstop makes it particularly nasty against bug breaches and swarm scenarios where sustained firepower matters most. If the GL-28 fires grenades comparable to existing grenade launcher weapons, having them on tap continuously could make this stratagem a powerhouse for area denial and crowd control.

Standing in one spot and unloading unlimited grenades sounds devastating on paper. In practice, players will need to manage positioning and timing, but the raw output potential is hard to ignore.

EAT-411 Leveller

For players who prefer precision over volume, the EAT-411 Leveller fires a single high-yield missile designed to send "a single, strong message." The name says it all: this thing levels targets.

Trailer footage shows an impressive explosion radius. The blast looks powerful enough to suggest serious damage potential against armored targets.

If the damage matches heavy ordnance, the Leveller could potentially one-shot high-value targets like detector towers, stratagem jammers, or even factory striders. A weapon that can delete major threats in a single hit opens up loadout options focused entirely around high-impact expendables.

Another expendable anti-tank option gives players more flexibility when building loadouts around single-use weapons. Players who enjoy stacking heavy ordnance now have another tool to work with.

G/SH-39 Shield

The G/SH-39 Shield rounds out the offensive loadout with some much-needed defense. This throwable emplacement generates a spherical shield that blocks incoming projectiles, providing mobile cover in the middle of combat.

"Make your own barrier while you bust down all the others," reads the description.

Players can toss it down to protect sentry turrets from incoming fire, cover stationary emplacements like the anti-tank emplacement or HMG emplacement, or create defensive positions when holding objectives. The throwable design means Helldivers can quickly set up protected zones mid-firefight without calling down additional stratagems.

The shield generator pairs well with the aggressive loadout the rest of Siege Breakers provides. Players can push forward with explosive weapons, then throw down cover when they need to hold ground or catch their breath.

Defending extraction points, protecting teammates during objectives, or just buying time to reload all become easier with portable shields on hand. The versatility of a throwable defensive tool adds depth to squad coordination without requiring a dedicated stratagem slot.

SA-8 Ram and SA-7 Headfirst Armor

Both new armor sets feature a fresh passive called Supplementary Adrenaline. The designs fit the siege-breaking theme, built for players who want to charge directly into enemy fortifications.

SA-8 Ram (Heavy Armor)

The SA-8 Ram is heavy armor built to look like plate armor and blast shields. The official description calls it "a blockade-battering force." The visual design emphasizes its role as frontline siege equipment, with heavy plating that signals the wearer's intention to smash through enemy lines.

Heavy armor trades mobility for maximum protection, and stamina drain has always been the main reason players avoid it. Being slow is fine when you're tanky, but constantly running out of stamina limits the ability to reposition or escape dangerous situations.

SA-7 Headfirst (Medium Armor)

The SA-7 Headfirst is medium armor that still looks well-defended but offers more flexibility and speed. It's built for players who need to push through obstacles quickly while keeping solid protection. The name suggests a playstyle of charging directly into danger, but with enough mobility to adapt when things go sideways.

This gives players a choice between maximum defense with the SA-8 Ram or a balanced approach with the SA-7 Headfirst, both sharing the same new passive.

Supplementary Adrenaline Passive

Both sets restore stamina when the wearer takes damage. The official description says this turns players into "the tireless battering ram at the enemy's wall."

Supplementary Adrenaline tackles one of heavy armor's biggest problems in Helldivers 2. Players in heavy armor constantly run out of stamina, limiting their ability to sprint away from danger or reposition effectively. This passive flips that dynamic, turning incoming damage into fuel for continued movement.

Getting shot actually helps players keep moving. For aggressive, front-line playstyles, that changes everything. Charging into enemy fire becomes less punishing when each hit restores the stamina needed to keep pushing or fall back.

Combining Supplementary Adrenaline with other stamina-related passives could create builds focused entirely on sustained mobility under fire. For players who've avoided heavy armor because of stamina issues, this passive offers a reason to reconsider.

Cosmetics and Customization

The Siege Breakers Warbond includes a full set of cosmetic options that match its combat equipment.

Banners and Capes

The Warbond offers two banner and cape sets with distinct visual designs.

The Rags of the Fashionable set comes pre-tattered, designed to show off participation in previous sieges. The battle-worn look signals veteran status and experience in breaking through enemy defenses.

The Wedgeful Tricorn features a saw-tooth edge along the bottom, giving it a more aggressive profile that fits the siege-breaking theme.

Emote and Title

The Display of Brawn emote works for both regular and victory poses, letting players flex after successful missions or enemy eliminations. Squads now have another way to celebrate together.

The Bunker Buster player title completes the theme, letting players display their role as specialists in smashing through enemy defenses.

Churned Earth Patterns

The Churned Earth pattern covers shuttles, exosuits, hellpods, and FRVs, letting squads coordinate their look across all equipment. The pattern evokes the torn-up battlefield terrain left behind after successful siege operations.

Cyborg Return Teased

The trailer's final moments have the community on edge. Marked as "confidential" and labeled "recovered footage," the sequence shows a dead Helldiver with a cracked visor getting dragged off into darkness by something unseen. Voice lines in the background sound distinctly Cyborg-like to veteran players.

Arrowhead rarely hints at future content or story developments in Warbond trailers, so this tease suggests something big is coming for Helldivers 2's ongoing narrative.

The timing lines up with community expectations. Players have been anticipating a major story development in the near future, and this teaser suggests it might involve an old enemy returning to the fight.

Who Are the Cyborgs?

The Cyborgs were a major faction in the original Helldivers. Today's Automatons are essentially their descendants (or vengeful children, depending how you look at it).

The original Cyborgs were Super Earth dissidents who went deep into transhumanism, augmenting themselves with mechanical enhancements. Their ideological opposition to Super Earth's regime sparked the conflicts in the first game. They embraced both transhumanism and political ideologies that put them at odds with Super Earth's government.

The Helldivers universe has a pattern of turning formerly peaceful factions into militarized threats through relentless warfare. The Illuminate started as a peaceful faction but now flesh-meld people for vengeance. The Cyborgs followed a similar arc, originally dissidents who became a full military threat.

Community veterans recognize the signs. The audio and visual cues point toward a Cyborg return, though it's unclear if they'll appear as a separate faction or fold into the existing Automaton forces. A new faction, or even a major variant within the Automaton forces, would represent a significant shift in Helldivers 2's ongoing war.

From Stealth to Siege

Siege Breakers marks a sharp turn from Helldivers 2's last content drop, creating an interesting contrast between playstyles.

Patch 5.0.2: Into the Unjust

The recent 5.0.2 patch introduced the Commando mission type, the Redacted Regiment Warbond with suppressed weapons, and updates to stealth gameplay.

"Democracy doesn't always need to shout," Arrowhead wrote in the Steam patch notes. "This patch is deploying some important updates to suppressed weapons, allowing Helldivers to eliminate threats with reduced detection and tighter tactical control. Expect quieter kills, cleaner engagements, and new opportunities for coordinated strikes before the enemy knows you're there. Remember: stealth is a tool, not a substitute for overwhelming firepower. Use it wisely, Helldivers!"

Siege Breakers, with its explosive hammers and belt-fed grenade launchers, clearly falls on the "overwhelming firepower" side of that equation. The back-to-back releases show Arrowhead's commitment to supporting different playstyles.

December 2025: Patch 5.0.0 and Python Commandos

December brought the major 5.0.0 patch alongside the jungle-themed Python Commandos Warbond. That update added several fan-requested weapons including a minigun.

The Slim Update

Arrowhead's "Slim" update cut the game's PC install size by roughly 85%. That's a huge help for players with limited storage who previously struggled to keep Helldivers 2 installed alongside other games.

Older installations will see these benefits applied over time, with the previous version expected to phase out in the near future. Loading times improved alongside the decreased file size, and players won't experience any downsides from the optimization. PC players get nothing but benefits from this update.

With the install size addressed, new content development appears to be running full speed.

Long-Term Future

Arrowhead's CEO has confirmed Helldivers 3 isn't in the studio's plans. The developer wants Helldivers 2 to run for years, comparing it to long-running games like RuneScape as a model for sustained live service development.

That long-term focus explains the investment in both gameplay variety and narrative development. Stealth one month, explosions the next, with story teasers hinting at bigger changes on the horizon. Players can expect ongoing Warbonds, patches, and story developments rather than a sequel announcement.

A live-action Helldivers 2 movie is also in development and reportedly gaining momentum. The franchise could expand beyond gaming into other media while the game itself continues receiving updates.

How to Get Siege Breakers

The Siege Breakers premium Warbond launches February 3, 2026. Like other premium Warbonds, it requires the base game, Super Credits (purchased or earned through gameplay), and game progression to unlock.

Super Credits can be bought directly for players who want immediate access, or earned slowly by completing certain in-game objectives for those willing to grind.

What This Means for Players

Siege Breakers delivers a loadout built for aggression. The upgraded LAS-16 Trident with its doubled beam count, the explosive CQC-20 Breaching Hammer, the continuous-fire GL-28 grenade launcher, and the high-yield EAT-411 Leveller all push toward front-line combat. The G/SH-39 Shield provides the defensive tool needed to hold ground while unleashing all that firepower.

The Supplementary Adrenaline armor passive rewards getting shot, which fits perfectly with charging into enemy fortifications hammer-first. Players who've wanted to run aggressive heavy armor builds finally have gear designed specifically for that playstyle.

Going from stealth to siege in back-to-back Warbonds shows Arrowhead's approach to keeping Helldivers 2 fresh. Different updates support different ways to play, giving the community variety rather than pushing everyone toward a single meta.

More interesting is what the trailer's ending suggests. If the Cyborgs are returning, Helldivers 2's battlefield could look very different in the coming months. A new faction (or a major addition to the Automatons) would shake up the war in ways that new weapons alone can't match.

February 3rd brings the new gear. What happens next could change everything.
