For a flanker, mobility is everything, and grappling hook traversal would put her among the most agile characters in the game.
Her retractable claws would handle close-range melee damage once she closes the gap. These would make her a real threat in tight quarters and complement the hit-and-run style that high-mobility flankers typically rely on. Get in, deal damage, get out before the enemy team can respond.
The standout piece of her potential kit is the "bad luck" mechanic. Translated into Marvel Rivals terms, this probability manipulation could work as a targeted debuff applied to enemies. Ami Han, better known as White Fox, is a South Korean super-agent and mystical shape-shifter descended from a race of nine-tailed foxes called the Kumiho. She was created by Young Hoon Ko and first appeared in Avengers: Electric Rain #1 in October 2014. Her roots in Korean mythology give her a flavor that stands apart from the bulk of Marvel's existing character lineup.
Born in Seoul, Ami Han is the last surviving Kumiho. Her species was once sworn to protect humans, but centuries of persecution for their powers drove the Kumiho into hiding. That backstory ties her directly to real-world Korean folklore and gives her origin more weight than the typical superhero story.
Her Kumiho physiology grants a wide range of superhuman abilities: strength, speed, agility, durability, stamina, and heightened senses. Beyond those physical traits, her powers get even more varied. She can communicate with animals, absorb energy from others to heal herself, control beings through her voice, extend and retract claws, and fully transform into her fox form. She's also a highly skilled hand-to-hand fighter even without tapping into any of her supernatural powers.
That range of abilities makes her a strong candidate for Marvel Rivals, especially when you consider how many of those powers could translate into distinct gameplay mechanics.
White Fox's Leaked Abilities
White Fox has more concrete information behind her than Black Cat, thanks to a leak that surfaced around April 2025. Trusted Marvel Rivals dataminer X0X_LEAK revealed details about her potential role and kit, and the information points toward a character unlike anything currently in the game.
According to the leak, White Fox is set to become the game's first melee Strategist. Every Strategist in Marvel Rivals up to this point has operated primarily at range, supporting the team from a safe distance. A melee Strategist would break that mold completely. If she arrives in Season 7 as expected, her inclusion alone would be a roster milestone and a serious shift in how the Strategist role can function.
White Fox was previously leaked around April 2025 with parts of her possible skill set revealed. She was expected to fill this first-ever melee Strategist slot even before the Gallery Card tease, which means two separate pieces of evidence now point toward her Season 7 arrival.
The leak also revealed the names of her four abilities, and each one connects back to her comic book powers.
Life Drain fits her lore ability to absorb energy from others. The name suggests she may need to hit enemies to generate healing for allies, converting her own damage output into team sustain. This lines up with her Kumiho ability to drain life energy and repurpose it. If that's how the ability works, there's a direct link between her offensive performance and her healing output, meaning she has to fight to support her team.
Life Transfer appears to be her second healing skill, focused on channeling absorbed energy directly into ally health. If dealing damage is required to power her healing, the gameplay loop becomes aggressive and high-risk. She'd need to stay in the middle of teamfights, hitting enemies to sustain her allies simultaneously. Her healing could work as AoE centered around herself, affecting all nearby teammates, or as more targeted single-ally output. The most likely version of her kit has damage triggering healing for nearby allies, which would force her to stay close to both enemies and the teammates she wants to keep alive.
The risk-reward dynamic here is something no current Strategist offers. To heal well, she has to put herself in danger. Playing too safe means her healing drops because she's not dealing enough damage to fuel it. Playing too aggressively without proper positioning could get her eliminated, leaving her team without a healer entirely. The skill expression lives in finding the line between those two extremes.
Outside of teamfights, she could fill some interesting secondary roles. Fox Shadow Evasion and her fox-based design point toward a fast, agile playstyle where quick repositioning is critical. She'd need to engage, deal damage, trigger healing, and reposition, all in rapid succession without getting caught out. That kind of constant movement and decision-making would give her a very different feel from the more stationary Strategists currently in the game.
Managing damage, healing, mobility, and positioning all at once is a lot to handle, which puts her firmly in the 3 or 4-star difficulty range. She'd reward players who invest real time into learning her kit, but she could be punishing for anyone who doesn't respect the risk that comes with being a melee healer.
Expected Release Timeline
Both characters are expected to arrive during Season 7 based on the Gallery Card tease and current seasonal release patterns. White Fox could launch around March 15, 2026, alongside the start of Season 7. Black Cat could then follow around April 15, 2026, during the Season 7.5 mid-season update. This matches the established pattern of introducing one character at launch and a second at the mid-season mark.
If these two fill the Season 7 roster slots, it also signals which characters won't be showing up yet.
