Why You Need Klaxxi Rep
The Klaxxi grind gives you some of the best pre-raid gear in Mists of Pandaria Classic. This Mantid faction in the Dread Wastes offers item level 489 epic rings that stay best in slot until you start clearing raids.
Every class gets something good from the Klaxxi. You have five different ring options at Exalted, so there's something perfect for your build. The zone buffs you unlock while questing also make the whole experience smoother than most rep grinds.
- BiS rings for every spec before raiding
- Unique zone buffs that speed up questing
- Amber Scorpion mount at Exalted
- Tons of blacksmithing plans if you're a crafter
- Restorative Amber for healers doing challenge modes
You'll need to hit level 89 before starting, and there are a couple prerequisite quests in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Nothing complicated, but you can't skip them.
Getting Started: Your First Steps
Head to Vale of Eternal Blossoms and find Bowmistress Li at (14.0, 77.0). She's hanging out on the wall east of Terrace of Gurthan. Complete her two quests "Nope" and "Falling Down" to unlock everything else.
After finishing Li's quests, travel to Dread Wastes and talk to Marksman Lann at (72.6, 28.6). He'll give you "Psycho Mantid," which starts your actual reputation gains. This quest leads directly into "Preserved in Amber," and you're off to the races.
The main hub you'll be using is Klaxxi'vess at (54.8, 34.0) in central Dread Wastes. This becomes your home base for daily quests, talking to Paragons, and buying rewards.

Understanding the Paragon Buff System
As you progress through the zone, you'll wake up ancient Mantid leaders called Paragons. Each one offers a unique buff that works anywhere in the Dread Wastes. You can only have one active at a time, but switching is as simple as talking to a different Paragon.
Combat Buffs
Utility Buffs
Speed King (Ka'roz the Locust) is the best buff for questing. Double jump every 5 seconds, plus killing enemies gives you 50% movement speed for 60 seconds. Your rep grind just got way faster.
Seek and Destroy (Hisek the Swarmkeeper) highlights priority targets that give Dread Might when killed. Useful for knowing which enemies to focus.
The Complete Reputation Path
Phase 1: Questline Push (Neutral to Honored)
Start with "Psycho Mantid" (250 rep) and "Preserved in Amber" (500 rep). These get you started and lead into the main zone storyline.
You'll wake up Paragons in a specific order. The first four come from completing "Dread Haste Makes Dread Waste":
- Kil'ruk the Wind-Reaver ("The Klaxxi Council")
- Malik the Unscathed ("In Her Clutch")
- Korven the Prime ("The Root of the Problem")
- Kaz'tik the Manipulator ("Falling to Pieces")
Three more unlock as you continue the zone quests:
- Iyyokuk the Lucid ("Fires and Fears of Old")
- Ka'roz the Locust ("Mazu's Bounty")
- Rik'kal the Dissector ("The Dissector Wakens")
Following the complete zone storyline should get you past Honored with seven Paragons active. Don't skip any quests since they all build toward your final goal.
Phase 2: Daily Quest Routine (Honored to Revered)
Now the real grind begins. Klaxxi dailies use a rotating hub system where only one location is active each day. The four possible spots are:
Daily Quest Hubs
Hub Location | Daily Quests | Base Reputation | Special Features |
---|---|---|---|
Clutches of Shek'zeer | 6 quests | 780 rep | Ordnance disposal missions |
Lake of Stars | 6 quests | 780 rep | Wildlife interaction quests |
Terrace of Gurthan | 6 quests | 780 rep | Debugging missions |
Zan'vess | 6 quests | 780 rep | Kypa'rak rare spawns |
Each hub offers six daily quests worth 130 rep each. That's 780 base reputation from the hub quests alone.
You'll also have "Rampage Against the Machine" from Kaz'tik the Manipulator. This one has you control Kovok to kill 200 Mantid in the Scar. Another 130 rep.
Phase 3: Revered Benefits
Hitting Revered unlocks several important things:
This should be your first purchase. It doubles all rep gains for your entire account, making the final push much faster.
Dark Skies daily becomes available from Xaril the Poisoned Mind for another 130 rep.
Hisek's rotating dailies offer four different quests that rotate:
- Debugging the Terrace: Kill 6 Eyes of the Empress around Terrace of Gurthan
- Infection: Kill 6 infected wildlife (moths, mushan, scorpids)
- Ordnance Disposal: Disable 8 Pheromone Mines around Clutches of Shek'zeer and Heart of Fear
- Quiet Now: Use the crystal at Whispering Stones to summon and kill Adjunct Sek'ot
With the Grand Commendation active, you're looking at 1,170+ reputation per day.
Phase 4: The Final Push (Revered to Exalted)
The last three Paragons are reputation gated:
- Kil'ruk gets "The Scent of Blood" at Honored
- Hisek gets "Dropping Our Signal" at Revered
- Xaril gets "Beneath the Heart of Fear" at Revered
With doubled rep gains from the Grand Commendation, this final stretch takes about 7 to 10 days.
Once you hit Exalted and have all Paragons awakened, Malik offers "The Empress' Gambit." This short questline rewards one of five epic rings:
Exalted Ring Rewards
Hidden Daily Quests
The Klaxxi have three secret daily quests that most players miss. These only appear when dailies are active in specific zones, and they start from rare mob drops.
Secret Daily Quest Sources
Each hidden quest gives solid reputation and you can do exactly one per day based on which zone is active. Always check for these when you're doing regular dailies.
Alternative Rep Methods
Dread Amber Shard farming lets you continue gaining rep after dailies. Any mob in Dread Wastes can drop these shards. Collect 5 and turn them in through "Seeds of Fear" for 250 rep.
Hozen Peace Pipe is a rare drop from Scritch in Kun-Lai Summit. Using it gives 1,000 rep to multiple factions including Klaxxi, but it has a 7 day cooldown and gets consumed.

Achievement Guide
Klaxxi Achievement Progression
Amber is the Color of My Energy requires waking up all the Paragons. You'll get this naturally by following the quest progression.
Stay Klaxxi needs you to complete 5 daily quests with each zone buff active. Rotate through different Paragon buffs while doing your dailies to knock this out.
Wakener requires both Exalted rep AND all Paragons awakened. Rewards "The Wakener" title. This is the big one that shows you've mastered the faction.
Timing and Efficiency Tips
Speed up your grind:
Optimal Daily Quest Route
Always use Speed King buff for dailies, plan efficient routes between quest objectives, check for hidden dailies every day, buy Grand Commendation the moment you hit Revered, and group nearby objectives together instead of completing quests in order.
The Klaxxi grind is one of the more rewarding rep grinds in MoP Classic. Those BiS rings alone make it worthwhile, and the zone buffs actually make the process enjoyable. Stick to the daily routine, grab those hidden quests when available, and you'll have your Amber Scorpion mount in about a month.
