The Tillers work differently than most WoW factions. You'll plant crops, give gifts to NPCs, and track individual friendship levels instead of just doing combat quests. This farming union is based in Halfhill in the Valley of the Four Winds, and you'll get your own farm at Sunsong Ranch.
Unlike most factions that just track your reputation, the Tillers run two separate systems. You've got standard faction rep with the union itself, plus individual friendship levels with ten different NPCs. Each friend has their own story, preferences, and rewards once you get close enough.
Before You Start Farming
Cooking isn't required, but it makes everything way easier. Two cooking recipes are reputation gated here, making this faction pretty valuable if you're serious about food buffs.

Where Everything Happens
Halfhill Market
This is your main hub. Halfhill Market sits in the middle of Valley of the Four Winds and handles most quest turnins. Look for Gina Mudclaw in the red dress at coordinates 53.2, 51.8 - she's your quartermaster and sells all the faction rewards.
Sunsong Ranch
Your personal farm sits just north of Halfhill. You'll start with four plots and can expand to sixteen as your reputation grows. This becomes your daily stop once farming unlocks.
Dark Soil Spots
These special resource nodes appear all over Pandaria, but you'll find the most around Halfhill's farming areas. They drop friendship gifts that are crucial for building relationships with individual NPCs.

The Main Questline
Learning to Farm
Everything starts with Farmer Yoon at coordinates 52, 48 near the watermelon patch. The guy gets mocked for being a city boy trying to farm, but he's determined to honor his grandfather's legacy. You'll help him prove himself to the other farmers.
The intro chain teaches farming basics and nets decent reputation:
- A Helping Hand: 900 rep
- Learn and Grow I: Seeds: 500 rep
- Learn and Grow II: Tilling and Planting: 500 rep
- Learn and Grow III: Tending Crops: 500 rep
- Learn and Grow IV: Harvesting: 700 rep
- Learn and Grow V: Halfhill Market: Unlocks dailies
- Learn and Grow VI: Gina's Vote: Wraps up the intro
Getting Union Votes
As your reputation increases, new questlines unlock around specific farmers. Each one involves growing certain crops and solving their problems.
You'll need 2 Juicycrunch Carrots to start this three part series about hozen causing trouble and missing vegetables.
Harvest 3 Green Cabbages to begin. This one deals with yak problems and ends with Fung going crazy for cabbage.
Start by growing 3 Witchberries. Nana shares her secret recipes and you'll help protect some sacred springs.
The longest questline needs 4 Striped Melons to start. You'll investigate break-ins, catch criminals, and deal with poison plots across five different quests.
Daily Quest Routine
You can complete five daily quests for 1,075 total reputation:
You'll also get 50 reputation for each crop you harvest at level 90, so check your farm daily.
Mastering the Farm
Plot Expansion
Your farm grows with your reputation:
Growing Crops
Farming follows a three step process. First, you till the soil and clear any weeds or pests. Then you plant seeds bought from Merchant Greenfield. Finally, you wait about 24 hours while dealing with any problems that pop up.
Tangled: Right-click and walk away
Runty: Right-click and jump
Alluring: Right-click and kill the bird that appears
Wiggling: Right-click and kill whatever's moving
Parched: Use your Watering Can
Smothered: Right-click and spam your action key
Wild: Right-click, spam action key, then hit key 2 when Vine Slam happens
Better Tools
As you progress through the union questline, Gina sells upgraded farming tools:
These tools allow you to work on multiple plots simultaneously instead of handling each one individually, dramatically speeding up your daily farming routine.

What You Can Grow
Different seeds unlock as your reputation increases:
Reputation Level | Available Seeds | Benefits |
---|---|---|
Friendly Level | Basic Vegetables | Produces five units plus 0-3 extra seeds |
Honored Level | Autumn Blossom Saplings | Decorative trees for your farm |
Revered Level | Profession Seeds | Enigma, Magebulb, Raptorleaf, Snakeroot, Windshear, Songbell |
Exalted Level | Winter Blossom Saplings | Completes your tree collection |

Hozen Peace Pipe

Gina Mudclaw sells rewards based on your reputation level:
The Grand Commendation doubles all future reputation gains account-wide. Buy this immediately upon reaching Revered!
