Phase Diving is the standout feature of Patch 11.2 that completely changes how you explore K'aresh. Think of it as accessing a parallel dimension where the familiar zone becomes something entirely different. You'll transform into pure energy and slip into Untethered Space, revealing hidden enemies, exclusive treasures, and world quests that don't exist in the normal world.
Most of the creatures you'll encounter are hostile, but that's part of the appeal. You're getting a whole new layer of content sitting on top of the regular K'aresh experience.
What Is Phase Diving?

How to Unlock Phase Diving
You can jump into Phase Diving during your first week in Patch 11.2. The unlock process is straightforward: follow K'aresh's main story campaign.
Story Requirements
First, you need to finish Chapter 3 of the K'aresh campaign. This becomes available right when the patch drops, so there's no waiting around. The key milestone is completing "The Tabiqa" quest, which hands you the Reshii Wraps artifact cloak. Once you've got that cloak, you can pick up "Another World," your gateway into Phase Diving.
Tutorial Quest Chain
The introduction covers everything you need to know through five quests:
- Another World - Your first taste of Phase Diving mechanics
- The Untethered Void - Learn how Conduit platforms work
- What Doesn't See You - Meet creatures that only exist while Phase Diving
- The Untethered Horror - Practice fighting ethereal enemies
- Wrapped Up - Figure out how to upgrade your Reshii Wraps
After finishing "Another World," Hashim gives you the remaining tutorial quests. Complete this sequence and you'll have full access to Phase Diving. You can interact with any Conduit, travel anywhere, and jump in and out of Untethered Space whenever you want.
Phase Diving Mechanics
Entering Untethered Space
Find a Phase Diving Conduit (they look like ethereal platforms) and interact with it. You'll immediately transform into energy form and gain the Phase Diving buff. The world around you shifts, revealing content that was completely invisible moments before.
Leaving Phase Diving
Getting out is simple. Either click off the Phase Diving buff or interact with any Conduit platform. You can also buy a Phase Regulator from Shad'anis at Overlook Zo'Shuul for just 1 copper. It lets you exit from anywhere.
Advanced Movement: Untethered Xy'bucha
While exploring in Phase Diving mode, you'll occasionally find Untethered Xy'bucha scattered around Shadowguard camps. This rare drink does two things: it lets you enter Phase Diving from anywhere without needing a Conduit, and it gives you a massive speed boost for 15 minutes.
Finding Untethered Xy'bucha creates this feedback loop. The more you explore while Phase Diving, the more you'll discover these consumables, which then make future exploration sessions even better.
The Conduit Network: K'aresh's New Fast Travel

Phase Diving's Conduit network is the best way to get around K'aresh. These platforms don't just let you enter Untethered Space, they also work as instant teleportation points between different areas of the zone.
How It Works
All Conduits are unlocked from the start. Visit any Conduit while Phase Diving and you can instantly travel to any other one you've discovered. It's like having flight paths everywhere, except faster and more convenient.
The system is so efficient that you'll barely need your flying mount for getting around K'aresh. To cross the entire zone, just hop between Conduits. For activities in normal world space, exit Phase Diving, handle your business, then jump right back in.
Network Coverage
This Conduit system alone makes Phase Diving worth unlocking immediately. The time savings are incredible, especially when you're doing daily activities or bouncing between different quest objectives.
Weekly Content and Progression
More Than Just a Phase Weekly
Your main weekly activity is "More Than Just a Phase," available from either Shad'anis at Overlook Zo'Shuul or Constable Zo'ardaz in Tazavesh. The quest is refreshingly simple: just do stuff while Phase Diving. Kill mobs (any mobs work, even regular ones), loot treasures, or complete world quests. Everything counts toward filling the progress bar.
Completing this weekly nets you 300 K'areshi Trust reputation and 7 Untethered Coins. That's your currency for buying Phase Diving rewards.
Warrant Bounties
Constable Zo'ardaz in Tazavesh also offers Warrants, special bounty quests that require Phase Diving to complete. These involve hunting down contained creatures that the brokers have been holding. You'll track them down, release them, and put them down for good.
Warrants reward Ethereal Strands, the currency you need for upgrading your Reshii Wraps cloak. While not technically Phase Diving quests, they're tied into the same progression system.
Rewards and Shopping
Where to Spend Your Coins
Take your Untethered Coins to Shad'anis at Overlook Zo'Shuul. He's got everything from mounts and pets to full armor sets and interactive toys.
The Acidic Void Creeper costs exactly what you'll earn from your first weekly quest, making it an instant reward option.
Armor Sets
All the armor ensembles cost 5 coins each and represent Phase Diving versions of the K'aresh Outdoor sets:
Untethered Armor Collections
These sets offer excellent value at 5 coins each. You get complete visual transformation that maintains thematic consistency with the Phase Diving system.
Cosmetic Accessories
Interactive Toys
The toy collection offers great entertainment value at just 3 coins each:
- Guise of the Phase Diver - Applies Phase Diving particle effects to your character in normal gameplay
- Overtuned K'areshi Goggles - Makes players and NPCs appear as Ethereals for 10 minutes
- K'areshi Supply Crate - Interactive toy for displaying K'areshi themed items
- Broker Supply Crate - Similar functionality but with Broker themed items
Battle Pet and Utility Items
Additionally, 1 coin utility boxes provide:
- K'aresh Box of Resonance Crystals - Contains progression crystals
- K'aresh Box of Valorstones - Equipment enhancement materials
These 1 coin boxes are perfect when you've bought everything else and want to convert leftover currency into useful materials.
Phase Lost Weapons and Achievement Hunting
The Phase Orb System
Beyond vendor purchases, Phase Diving has a whole collectible system built around Phase Orbs. After upgrading your Reshii Wraps to the second rank ("Secrets of the Death"), you'll start finding these orbs scattered around K'aresh. Each orb gives you a primary stat boost while Phase Diving and has a chance to reward a Phase Lost weapon transmog.
The orbs spawn randomly, so there's an element of luck involved. But they also add exploration incentive beyond just completing weekly objectives.
Phase Lost and Found Achievement
Collecting all the Phase Lost weapon appearances unlocks the "Phase Lost and Found" achievement, which rewards the Phase Lost Slateback mount. This mount is special because it's the only one that maintains Phase Diving visual effects outside of Untethered Space. You get to show off those ethereal particle effects during regular gameplay.
Weapon Collection Highlights
The Phase Lost collection mixes brand new designs with recolored classics:
- Bow with a design you can't get anywhere else
- Dagger that was never available to players before
- Off hand lantern that your character actually holds prominently
- Phase Loss Carver and Phase Loss Hatchet axes with ethereal styling
- Timewalking vendor variants
- Recolored versions from Malygos, Hellfire Citadel, and Argent Tournament
- The Phase Lost Bishop - a highly coveted Malygos weapon recolor
Reshii Wraps Integration
Upgrade Currency
Your Reshii Wraps upgrades use Ethereal Strands, which you can get from various K'aresh activities. PvP matches, PvE content, raid bosses, and those weekly Warrant quests all drop Ethereal Strands. The currency seems pretty accessible through normal gameplay.
Planning Your Purchases
Week One Strategy
With only 7 coins per week, your first purchase decision sets the tone. The Acidic Void Creeper mount costs exactly 7 coins, so you can get a mount immediately if that's your priority. Alternatively, you could grab a 5 coin armor set and save 2 coins toward something bigger.
Long term Planning
The Lavender K'arroc mount requires at least two weeks of saving (you'd need to skip other purchases in week one and save up). The 3 coin toys offer good variety without breaking your budget, while the 4 coin pet sits in that middle tier between impulse purchases and major investments.
Purchase Strategy | Week 1 Options | Long-term Value |
---|---|---|
Immediate Gratification | Utility boxes (1 coin) or toys (3 coins) | Low cost, instant rewards |
Best Value | Armor sets (5 coins) | Complete visual transformation |
Mount Priority | Acidic Void Creeper (7 coins) | Instant mount, week one availability |
Premium Collection | Save for Lavender K'arroc | Requires 2+ weeks, premium flying mount |
Why Phase Diving Matters
The Conduit fast travel system alone justifies unlocking Phase Diving as soon as possible. You'll save huge amounts of time getting around K'aresh, and that benefit compounds every day you're playing in the zone.
Beyond convenience, the reward variety hits different player interests. Mount collectors get two solid options, transmog fans have multiple complete armor sets plus weapon collections, pet battlers get their purple Beholder, and achievement hunters have the Phase Lost collection to chase.
The weekly structure keeps you engaged without feeling overwhelming. Seven coins per week creates natural decision points and gives you something to look forward to each reset. Whether you're methodically working toward the expensive mount or diversifying across multiple reward categories, the progression feels satisfying.
Phase Diving succeeds because it adds genuine value to your K'aresh experience while providing meaningful rewards that you actually want to collect. The system transforms exploration from a one-time activity into an ongoing engagement with the zone.
Whether you're a completionist looking to collect every reward, a casual player who enjoys the convenience of fast travel, or someone who loves discovering hidden content, Phase Diving offers something valuable for every playstyle. The investment of time spent unlocking and engaging with the system pays dividends throughout your entire K'aresh experience.
