What Should I Do After I Order?

How the WoW Classic PvP Ranking System Works

WoW Classic uses a 14-rank honor system where players earn ranking points through honorable kills and battleground objectives. Each rank requires progressively more honor to reach, with weekly calculations determining your movement up or down the ladder. On Classic Era and Anniversary servers, rank decay has been removed, so your progress carries forward between weeks. Even without decay, the upper ranks still demand a massive time investment. Ranks 1 through 6 come relatively fast, but Ranks 11 through 14 require hitting the 500,000 weekly honor cap consistently for multiple weeks in a row.

Every rank in the WoW Classic PvP system unlocks new rewards tied to your faction. Rank 2 grants a PvP trinket with fear and polymorph immunity. Rank 3 opens up a superior-quality cloak and a 10% vendor discount. Ranks 7 through 10 unlock class-specific rare gear sets purchased from vendors in the Officer's Barracks. Rank 11 is where the real prizes start: epic PvP mounts exclusive to top-ranked players. Ranks 12 and 13 grant epic armor pieces including boots, legs, gloves, helm, shoulders, and chest. Rank 14, Grand Marshal for Alliance or High Warlord for Horde, rewards the most powerful PvP weapons in the game.

Battlegrounds and Honor Farming in WoW Classic

The three Classic battlegrounds are the primary source of honor points for ranking up. Warsong Gulch is a 10v10 capture-the-flag match that rewards fast, coordinated teams with strong honor per hour. Arathi Basin focuses on resource control across five capture points, making it ideal for organized groups that can rotate between flags quickly. Alterac Valley is the largest battleground with NPC objectives, tower captures, and boss kills that all contribute honor on top of player kills. Killing the same enemy player repeatedly within 24 hours gives diminishing returns, so rotating between different battlegrounds and opponents matters. Premade groups running focused strategies will always out-earn solo players queuing randomly, which is a big reason the rank grind becomes so punishing at higher levels.
