Respawn Entertainment revealed the Haute Shot Collection Event coming to Apex Legends on July 15th, running through August 5th. The beach-themed event brings major changes to Arenas: Duels mode, introduces a new universal melee weapon, and features cosmetics from fashion brand Belva.

Arenas: Duels Gets Legend Abilities
The biggest change hits Arenas: Duels, which now includes Legend abilities for the first time. Players still get randomized Legends, loadouts, and spawn locations with both opponents using identical setups. But now they can use character abilities to shake up the tactical gameplay.
The mode also changes its win conditions. Kills now equal wins, and timeouts result in draws instead of the previous system. Respawn wants matches to feel more decisive and engaging.
New Cosmetics Drop in Event Packs
Haute Shot Packs guarantee one event item with no duplicates, plus two standard items. Every event item counts toward milestone rewards that unlock automatically, including up to 20 Exotic Shards.
Five Legends get new skins: Loba, Conduit, Bloodhound, Wattson, and the new character Sparrow. Each costs 1,800 Apex Coins ($19.99 USD/£17.99 GBP) or 2,400 Crafting Materials.
Eight weapons receive new skins: R-301 Carbine, Wingman, Charge Rifle, L-Star EMG, EVA-8 Auto, Nemesis Burst AR, HAVOC rifle, and Rampage LMG.

Sky Piercer Universal Melee Weapon
Event packs can drop the Sky Piercer, a universal melee weapon that all Legends can use. This scepter shoots fireworks into the air and charges up as matches progress. Players get their first fireworks activation free each match.
The Sky Piercer supports customization through the Exotic Shop, where players can buy upgrades and variants to change its appearance and effects.
Reward Shop and Daily Challenges
Daily event challenges earn Status currency that players spend in the Haute Shot Reward Shop. Rewards include more event packs and four event badges for banner display. Shop offerings rotate halfway through the event.
The in-game store features limited-time Haute Shot offers from July 15th through August 5th, though specific details weren't disclosed.
Legend Balance Changes
Caustic gets a major buff with his Nox Gas Trap duration doubling from 11 seconds to 22 seconds. Enemy gas traps now appear highlighted for better visibility.
Mirage's Power Sword VFX no longer shows when he's invisible, fixing a stealth issue.
Wattson receives two fixes: her Energized Healer ability now works properly, and her Ultimate Conductor upgrade stops charging when it shouldn't.
Technical Fixes and Known Issues
The update adds new DMA detections for improved anti-cheat protection. Players can't slide or interact with Respawn Beacons from unintended distances anymore. Various crash fixes are included but not detailed.
Respawn acknowledged several ongoing bugs they're tracking on their public Trello board. Opening Apex Packs can cause crashes, typically from switching tabs too quickly afterward. Players should avoid rapid tab switching as a workaround.
Newcastle's shield won't charge properly after dropping in some cases. Dropping and picking up the Knockdown Shield fixes the charging temporarily.
The Retro Packs Progress Bar shows visual errors but doesn't affect actual progress or rewards.

Event Details
The Haute Shot event runs on all platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC through EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam. Standard requirements apply including persistent internet connection and EA account.
Event pack availability varies by region. All content remains subject to change based on community feedback and ongoing development.
The event marks another seasonal content drop from Respawn, mixing competitive mode updates with extensive cosmetic offerings and technical improvements. The beach theme and Belva collaboration brings a fresh aesthetic to the battle royale's summer season.
