The Supersonic Event arrives in Apex Legends: Amped on November 18, running until December 16. This limited-time event introduces Olympus as the newest Wildcard map, debuts the Bird of Prey Mythic R-99 with unique missile-launching capabilities, and adds a fresh roster of speed-focused Wild Cards designed to reward aggressive, mobile playstyles.
Olympus Joins the Wildcard Rotation
Olympus receives the Wildcard treatment with this event, featuring additional map toys scattered throughout the arena. The Wildcard version of Olympus includes extra ziplines and gravity cannons beyond what players experience in standard rotations, providing more vertical mobility options and aerial engagement opportunities.
Bird of Prey: The New Mythic R-99
The headline addition to Supersonic is the Bird of Prey, a new Mythic R-99 skin inspired by Valkyrie and described as master crafted in Rampart's workshop. This weapon features unique mechanics exclusive to Wildcard mode.
Missile Volley Ability
When players hit their target repeatedly with the Bird of Prey in Wildcard, they activate the Missile Volley ability. This causes the weapon to automatically fire missiles that track the targeted enemy. The weapon also provides movement speed bonuses, boosting walk, crouch, and sprint speed to help players maintain pressure on their targets.
Acquisition Method
The Bird of Prey is available exclusively through Rampart Care Package drops during Wildcard matches. Care Packages drop at the start of each round and contain one Bird of Prey alongside two random weapons. The rarity of the random weapons increases as rounds progress.
New Supersonic Wild Cards
The event introduces six new Wild Cards focused on movement and speed mechanics:
Burning Rubber - Sliding leaves a trail of fire behind the player that deals damage over time to enemies who pass through it.
Along for the Slide - Provides a speed boost when initiating a slide, with increased sliding speed and extended slide range.
Extra Zippy - Refills shields while traveling on Ziplines and Ziprails, and increases travel speed on these traversal options.
Eyes in the Sky - Highlights enemies around the player while airborne, providing tactical awareness during jumps and aerial movement.
The Quick and the Dead - Highlights fast-moving enemies for your entire team, helping squads track mobile opponents.
Get Up and Go! - When a player revives a teammate, both the reviver and the revived Legend receive a burst of speed.
Returning Wild Cards
Several existing Wild Cards remain in rotation during the Supersonic Event: Mad Dash, Wall Runner, High Velocity, Crackerjack, Fast Draw, and Speedy Charge.
Event Loot Pool Changes
The Supersonic Event modifies the Wildcard loot pool with several notable weapon adjustments:
Alternator SMG - Returns to Wildcard with two significant additions: the Double Tap Hop Up and the return of Disruptor Rounds.
Bocek Compound Bow - Available in rotation with Explosive Bolts permanently active. Players no longer need Frag Grenades to access this functionality.
Pulse Blade Throwing Knife - Returns after a long absence from the game. This tactical knife emits a brief sonar pulse when thrown, detecting nearby enemies. The throwing speed has been increased, allowing the knife to travel faster through the air.
Death Duet Universal Melee
The Supersonic Event introduces the Death Duet, a new Universal Melee cosmetic consisting of dual katanas. As a Universal Melee item, the Death Duet is usable by all Legends in the game.
Event Cosmetics and Skins
The Supersonic Event features Legendary Skins for five Legends: Horizon, Crypto, Sparrow, Mirage, and Catalyst. Matching weapon skins are also available alongside the Legend cosmetics.
