This guide covers every Marvel Rivals hero and explains how to quickly reach Hero Rank 5 (Lord), what important tasks (proficiency perks) you'll do along the way, and which cosmetic rewards you earn on the path. We focus on up-to-date strategies: notably, after the April 2025 update Quick Match/Competitive modes have unlimited repeatable mastery missions while Conquest and Doom Match have daily limits. In practice, that means mix your modes – use Conquest (Team Deathmatch) for big kill/assist quotas when possible, then switch to Quick matches (Domination/Convoy/Convergence) for any remaining tasks. Below, each hero's section lists recommended XP routes, key mastery tasks (explained simply), and mastery cosmetics.
Adam Warlock

XP Route
As a Strategist (healer/support), Adam Warlock excels when your team needs healing and survivability. Focus on Quick Match or Competitive games where you can stay with allies and use your healing/light abilities freely. Play normal modes (Domination/Convoy) and aim to complete your healing, damage, and revive challenges. Only use Conquest (TDM) for extra kill points if needed. Co-op games maximize healing to teammates. Key strategy: use your Quantum Cocoon (heals all nearby allies and shields you) often, and pop your Resurrection ultimate to revive fallen teammates – both actions tick off proficiency tasks and build XP.
Proficiency Perks
Warlock's proficiency challenges reward teamwork and self-buffing. For example:
- Heal Quota: Heal large totals of damage as a strategist.
- KO/Assist Quota: Secure kills or assists while in healing or cocoon form.
- Ability Quota: Use Karmic Revival (resurrection) on fallen allies multiple times.
- Play Time: Simply play 60 minutes to earn proficiency points.
These tasks encourage healing allies and using Warlock's cocoon and resurrection – friendly and fun goals that make you a supportive healer.
Rewards
Like all heroes, Warlock's proficiency rewards include a unique spray at Rank 2 (500 points), extra KO prompts at Ranks 3–4 (1200/2000 points), and a fancy Deluxe avatar at Rank 5 (Lord, 2400 pts). In other words: reach Knight for his custom spray, Captain/Centurion for flashier final-hit animations, and Lord for a special portrait icon.
Black Panther

XP Route
Black Panther is a Duelist (damage dealer). The fastest way is to hunt kills in Conquest (Team Deathmatch) as much as daily limits allow, since his tasks favor damage and final hits. Blitz through enemies with his claws and Spirit Road ability. After Conquest cap, switch to Quick Matches to keep farming damage in objective fights. Use hit-and-run: pounce with Spirit Road to shred foes, land finishing "final hits," and repeat in both modes. Stick with teammates so you stay safe while looking for picks.
ProficiencyPerks
Key tasks:
- Damage Quota: Deal large damage totals with Black Panther's melee attacks.
- Final Hit Quota: Land final hits (the finishing blow) on a number of enemies.
- Ability Quota: Use Spirit Road many times (this charges through enemies).
These tasks mean: play aggressively in melee, pounce on enemies to finish them, and spam your Spirit Road dash. It's beginner-friendly – think "slice and dash" to build mastery.
Rewards
Panther's mastery rewards follow the standard pattern: his Avatar spray at Knight rank, two extra KO prompts at Captain/Centurion, and a Deluxe Avatar at Lord.
Black Widow

XP Route

Fire her sniper blasts from afar, pick off roaming enemies, and pop fights with teammates. When not in Conquest, join Domination/Convoy games and stay at the backline taking out targets. Key tip: she has bonus XP tasks for critical kills, so aim for headshots and use her gadgets to set up multi-kills.
Proficiency Perks
Important tasks:
- Damage Quota: Accumulate high total damage with Widow's weapons.
- Final Hit Quota: Score a number of final blows on enemies.
- Crit KO Quota: Get several critical hit knockouts.
These translate to: play carefully, secure kills (especially with crits), and enjoy watching targets fall.

Proficiency Perks
Key challenges:
- Damage Block Quota: Block a large total of incoming damage.
- KO Quota: Land a number of KOs (knockouts) with Cap's attacks.

So: "pull them in and punch them out." Quite literal and fun.
Rewards
Winter Soldier's rewards follow the normal pattern: a spray, special KO prompts, and deluxe avatar.
Wolverine

XP Route
Wolverine is a Duelist (dual-wielder). Level up quickest by playing Conquest (his tasks target damage and final hits) then Quick Matches. Use his claw dash and pounce to kill. In Conquest, dive on wounded enemies repeatedly. Then finish objectives with saber swipes. His healing (auto) helps you stay in fights for extra points.
Mastery Perks
Example tasks:
- Damage Quota: Deal damage with his claw slashes.
- Final Hit Quota: Land final strikes on enemies.
- Ability Quota: Knock down 10/50 enemies with Feral Leap.
This reads: "leap into them and slash." Straightforward and aggressive.
Rewards
Wolverine's mastery unlocks: a custom spray, KO prompt upgrades, and Deluxe Avatar at Lord
