Why You Need These Fruits
When you start Arc Raiders, you'll get Scrappy, a pet chicken (sometimes called a rooster) that passively collects resources while you're out fighting during drops. You can upgrade Scrappy to improve how much it gathers for you.
Getting Scrappy from level two to level three requires three lemons and three apricots. This upgrade matters because it boosts the passive resources Scrappy collects during your runs. The best part? These passive resources stick around even if you die and lose everything else, giving you something to show for failed extractions.
The catch is that lemons and apricots are surprisingly rare in Arc Raiders. What sounds like a simple task turns into a proper hunt.
What You're Looking For
Both lemons and apricots are green rarity items, putting them in the uncommon tier. They're brightly colored fruit, so they stand out pretty well against standard loot when you spot them on the ground or in containers.
You can technically find them in the global loot pool. During preview events, players found lemons in random containers inside buildings. But this method is way less reliable than targeting specific locations.
Finding Fruit at Trees
Your main strategy involves hunting down fruit trees in natural areas across different maps.
How It Works
You'll find fruit in two ways:
- On the ground: Lemons and apricots spawn naturally at the base of trees
- Kicking trees: You can kick trees to knock additional fruit down, then pick it up
Tree availability changes from drop to drop. Not every tree has fruit, and some trees won't drop anything when you kick them. You might run into trees in natural areas that just don't produce lemons or apricots, no matter what you do.
Finding Natural Areas
Look for the "Nature" icon on your map when you drop into a match. These spots have the best chance of spawning trees, but nothing's guaranteed. Even when trees appear, they might not have the specific fruits you need.
Best Locations for Farming
Blue Gate: Olive Grove
Where it is: South side of the map, just below the Checkpoint.
This location usually spawns a good number of trees spread across the area. Most runs will get you either lemons or apricots, and you'll sometimes find both in one trip. It's become the go-to spot for farming these fruits.
You'll also pick up plenty of olives here, which is how the location got its name.
Buried City: Marano Park
Where it is: Between Library and Town Hall.
Marano Park has several fruit trees that drop lemons, apricots, and other fruits. It's one of the top spots alongside Olive Grove.
Spaceport: Staff Parking
This location spawns fruit trees with potential for lemons and apricots, though there's less specific information available about it compared to the other two main spots.
Basket Searching
If trees aren't working out, you can search woven baskets instead.
Where Baskets Spawn
Most buildings and houses have baskets, especially in residential areas. They can contain both lemons and apricots, though it's a gamble.
Buried City for Baskets
Buried City is your best bet for the basket method. You'll find them scattered across several locations:
- Grandioso Apartments: Multiple basket spawns
- Santa Maria Houses: Another residential area with plenty of baskets
The Lush Blooms Event
This event gives you a major advantage when hunting fruit. Lush Blooms can pop up on any map at any time, buffing the spawn rate of fruits and vegetation across the entire map.
The event boosts everything in the nature loot pool, making lemons and apricots much easier to find while it's active. The map selection appears random.
Making Your Life Easier
Track What You Need
Use the tracking system to spot lemons and apricots faster:
Go to the Workshop menu, interact with Scrappy, and select the training option. This puts a diamond icon on tracked items, making them way easier to notice in the world and in containers.
You should track all important upgrade and quest items this way.
Use Your Safe Pocket
Store lemons and apricots in your safe pocket as soon as you find them. Note that free loadouts don't get safe pockets.
Complete Location List
| Map | Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Gate | Olive Grove | Best overall spot, high PvP risk |
| Buried City | Marano Park / Gardens | Between Library and Town Hall |
| Buried City | Grandioso Apartments | Baskets in residential area |
| Buried City | Santa Maria Houses | Baskets in residential area |
| Spaceport | Staff Parking | Fruit trees spawn here |
| Any Map | Nature icon areas | Check map for Nature markers |
Your Farming Strategy
Here's the most efficient approach to getting three lemons and three apricots:
- Check if Lush Blooms is active on Blue Gate or Buried City
- Jump into that map if the event's running
- Otherwise, head to Olive Grove on Blue Gate first
- Search tree bases for ground spawns
- Kick trees for extra drops
- Watch for hostile players in popular farming spots
- If trees fail, hit up residential baskets on Buried City
- Track items through Scrappy's menu
- Store finds in safe pocket right away
- Extract carefully
What to Expect
Every source emphasizes that finding these fruits is harder than it sounds. They're rare enough that you should expect to run multiple drops before collecting all six required items.
The upgrade is worth the hassle. More passive resources mean you're getting value even from runs where everything goes wrong and you lose your gear.
