Assessor Matrix is one of the rarest crafting materials in Arc Raiders, added with the Flashpoint update. It's an Epic item with exactly one source in the game, and you'll need a lot of it. The High-Gain Antenna project alone calls for 24 of them, so a single lucky run won't get you far. Farming this takes multiple sessions, and going in without a plan means wasted time.
What Is the Assessor Matrix?
Assessor Matrix is an Epic tier crafting material from the Flashpoint update. Its main use is in high level crafting projects, with the High-Gain Antenna being the biggest offender at 24 required. That means running this farm consistently, not as a one off. It's also worth stockpiling extras in your stash for future projects, since you'll almost certainly need more at some point.
Where It Comes From
Assessor Matrix only drops from Assessor drop pods, which only appear during a specific map condition called Close Scrutiny. Regular containers won't have it, standard Arc enemies don't drop it, and there's no workaround. The Assessor is the only source, full stop.
Each pod has three breachable containers, and each one has a chance to drop an Assessor Matrix. A single visit could net you anywhere from zero to three. Pods also carry various other Arc materials and occasionally drop the Dolabra blueprint.
Close Scrutiny: The Map Condition You Need
Close Scrutiny is a special map modifier that has to be active for Assessors to spawn. It's not something you'll find on every map by default. Fortunately, it's always running on at least one available map at any given time, so there's no waiting on a rotation. Before you queue, check which map has it active and load into that one.
Once you're in, general looting takes a back seat. The Assessor is your target. Everything else is a distraction.
Finding the Assessor
You'll see the Assessor coming before it lands. A large red light appears in the sky shortly before the pod drops, so move toward it as soon as you spot it. Depending on your distance, it may still be descending when you arrive or already on the ground.
On the ground, the Assessor is a large stationary object embedded in the terrain with three loot containers on its side. It looks nothing like standard map objects and won't make a sound when you breach it, unlike Arc Beacons on regular maps. Those three containers are what you're after.
What You're Up Against
Don't approach an Assessor without preparation. The pods are heavily guarded by Arc machines, and other players will be pushing toward the same location.
How to Approach It
There's no single correct way to run an Assessor. Your approach should match your playstyle and whether you're solo or in a squad.
Stealth (Solo)
A Photoelectric Cloak lets you slip in while other players and Arcs are occupied, breach a container, and get out before anyone locks onto you. Combine it with Smoke Grenades thrown around the pod before you start breaching. Smoke cuts Arc tracking, giving you a window to grab the loot and pull back. For solo players who can't match a squad's firepower, this combination is the most reliable path to a clean extraction.
Squad Push
A full group geared up to fight Arcs makes short work of the Assessor's defenses. The Hullcracker and Aphelion are solid choices against Vaporizers, and Wolfpack loadouts handle the broader Arc presence around the pod well. Bring healing too, because sustained fights around the Assessor drain your health fast.
Group runs are faster across the board: quicker Arc clearance, quicker breaching, and you can split the loot afterward. A coordinated squad hitting all three containers in one run can walk away with multiple Matrixes and divide them based on who needs them. The downside is visibility. A squad occupying an Assessor is an obvious target for other players in the match.
Let Them Fight
A third option is to hang back and let other players and the Arc guards grind each other down, then move in on whatever containers are still available. Someone else may grab the loot before you get there, but you avoid the worst of the Arc pressure. A cloak or smoke grenades make this much more viable when you do move in.
Gear to Bring
Strong weapons and healing are the baseline. Going in underprepared will cost you runs.
Farming Loop
With 24 Assessor Matrixes needed for the High-Gain Antenna alone, you'll want a repeatable routine locked in quickly.
- Check which map has Close Scrutiny active before queuing.
- Load in and move toward the red light in the sky immediately.
- Breach all three containers using smoke and a cloak to cut down Arc tracking.
- Collect whatever drops and extract.
- Repeat.
Close Scrutiny runs on at least one map at all times, so you can go back to back without waiting. Runs vary considerably though: a good one gives you three Matrixes, a bad one gives you nothing. Plan your sessions with that in mind and don't count on any single run to move the needle much.
