Battlefield 6 update 1.1.3.6 is now live across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC as of February 3, 2026 at 09:00 UTC. EA describes it as "a small quality-of-life update focused on polish, stability, and targeted fixes," arriving just two weeks after a much larger late-January patch.

No new content this time around. Instead, the patch focuses on gameplay flow issues, UI reliability, audio consistency, and map-specific adjustments. The three biggest areas of focus: sprint-jump movement edge cases, destruction-related visual bugs on Eastwood, and several gameplay-breaking issues in REDSEC battle royale.

Sprint-Jump Movement Fixes

Player movement has been one of Battlefield 6's most debated topics since the open beta in Summer 2025. Back then, the game had a noticeably faster pace that became a big part of its appeal and helped generate the word of mouth that carried BF6 to a massive launch. Battlefield Studios slowed things down for release, which split the community. Franchise purists praised the shift toward a more grounded feel reminiscent of Battlefield 3. Players who enjoyed the beta's speed felt the change stripped away what made BF6 feel fresh.

That broader debate isn't what this patch is about. Update 1.1.3.6 fixes a specific issue where sprint-jump momentum could behave inconsistently, granting higher or lower momentum than intended. Some players were getting unpredictable results when chaining sprints into jumps, sometimes launching further than expected, sometimes getting less distance than they should.

Battlefield Studios has been clear that this won't change how movement feels on a larger scale. The fix is meant to target "those specific edge cases" and nothing more, so don't expect any noticeable shift in the general feel of matches.

Eastwood Destruction Bug Fixes

Eastwood received three separate fixes, all tied to the map's destruction system interacting badly with its lighting and rendering. EA flagged these as one of the four major update areas, describing them as "destruction-related visual and lighting issues on Eastwood that could result in lighting artifacts, blackouts, or incorrect colour rendering."

Near the A flag, destroying a building could cause green or purple visual effects to bleed across nearby structures. Around the B flag, the problems were more severe. Destroying one building there could trigger a complete lighting blackout across the entire map, while destroying the nearby villa could flood the area with overwhelmingly bright lighting artifacts.

All three bugs stem from how BF6's destruction system interacts with Eastwood's lighting pipeline. Matches on the map should be significantly more visually stable now, especially around the A and B flags where destruction happens frequently during normal play.

Objective Ace & Winter Warning Cosmetics

Update 1.1.3.6 also adjusts the Objective Ace cosmetic to better align with what Battlefield Studios calls "Battlefield's visual identity." No specifics on what actually changed with the item, but the Objective Ace mask had drawn community criticism for looking too similar to the skull logo from Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Initial patch notes also listed the Winter Warning cosmetic as getting an update in this patch. EA has since corrected this, confirming Winter Warning was included by mistake. Their corrected notes read: "An earlier version of this note mentioned that the Winter Warning cosmetic would go live as well. This timing was made in error. Winter Warning's cosmetic will be updated in line with Season 2's launch on February 17th."

Winter Warning had its own set of community complaints. Players accused the player card banner of being AI-generated, pointing to visual oddities like a two-barrel gun and unnatural hand placement on the weapon, both common hallmarks of AI-generated imagery.

Ongoing Cosmetic Controversies

This isn't the first time Battlefield 6 has dealt with pushback over its cosmetics. EA and Battlefield Studios publicly stated early on that they'd reject skins that don't fit the game's tone, but some released outfits have tested that commitment.

The most notable example was the Wicked Grin outfit. Players called it too colorful for BF6's muted military look, citing bright blue accent colors and a toothy smile design on its neck gaiter. After sustained backlash, the outfit was pulled entirely, eventually returning with dulled colors and the smile removed. Some in the community debated whether the original skin actually crossed any line, but others worried it signaled a drift toward increasingly outlandish cosmetics.

From the Wicked Grin removal to the Objective Ace's resemblance to a competitor's branding to the AI accusations around Winter Warning, cosmetics remain a friction point between Battlefield Studios and its player base.

REDSEC Battle Royale Fixes

REDSEC picked up multiple fixes in this update, covering issues that affected everything from match insertion to end-of-match completion. EA highlighted these as a major update area, noting the patch addresses "REDSEC Battle Royale issues affecting insertions, parachute behaviour, and redeploy UI elements."

Gameplay Fixes

Three gameplay bugs have been resolved.

Battle Royale Initiation matches, where players face AI opponents, weren't ending after eliminating the final enemy. Players who successfully cleared the mode could find themselves stuck in a match that refused to conclude despite hitting the win condition.

A parachute bug was also causing problems during insertion. When squads deploy into REDSEC, players follow a jump leader before breaking off to land independently. Parachute deployment could remain linked to the jump leader even after a player had separated, meaning their chute behavior was still tied to someone else's actions rather than their own inputs.

On top of that, players could become stuck mid-air during insertion after progressing through the pre-deploy sequence. Instead of transitioning into their drop, affected players would freeze in place with no way to continue.

Second Chance UI Fixes

Two bugs affecting REDSEC's Second Chance redeploy system have also been fixed. The redeploy icon could incorrectly transfer to a living teammate, creating confusion about who actually had Second Chance available. Separately, the redeploy timer was refreshing its countdown every time someone opened the map, giving players inaccurate information about how much time they had left.

UI, Audio & Stability Fixes

A handful of additional fixes round out the patch.

On the UI side, downed squadmates were showing up on the minimap for classes that can't revive. In BF6's class-based system, not every class has revive abilities, so these markers were creating unnecessary clutter and potentially sending players on pointless detours. Legal text within the game has also been updated.

An audio fix addresses the UAV Drone's enemy detection sound, which was broadcasting to all teammates instead of only the operator. The sound cue was designed to help the drone user track enemies, not the entire squad.

Two platform-specific crashes have been resolved as well. On PS5, ownership validation could fail during system lifecycle events (like entering or resuming from rest mode), causing connectivity issues. On Xbox Series S, an out-of-memory crash could hit when loading Daily and Weekly Challenges, potentially locking players out of the challenge system on that hardware.

Road to Season 2

This patch lands at an interesting point in Battlefield 6's post-launch trajectory. The game rode strong beta reception and word of mouth to become the best-selling shooter of 2025, with its grounded gameplay drawing favorable comparisons to Battlefield 3 and giving players the sense that the franchise was back.

Since launch, though, the picture has shifted. The player base has dropped to what some describe as alarming levels, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 closing the gap. A mix of controversies and player frustrations have contributed to the decline, and EA has been pushing regular updates to try and recapture the game's early momentum.

Season 2's start date was delayed but is now locked in for February 17, 2026. The community is hoping Battlefield Studios used that extra time to bring highly requested content and fix lingering issues. For now, update 1.1.3.6 is another incremental step on stability and polish, with EA noting that their plans "may change as we listen to community feedback and continue developing and evolving our Live Service & Content."
