What Are Golden Age Legacy Chests?
Golden Age Legacy chests are scattered throughout Jiangshi Metro in Destiny: Rising, and they're packed with useful loot. Each chest you open contains a mix of valuable progression resources.
Chest Rewards
You'll find three types of items inside:
- Lumia Leaf (used for crafting and upgrades)
- Weapon Enhancement Prisms (multiple varieties)
- Reputation points (speeds up leveling and unlocks more rewards)
These resources give you a solid boost early on, making chest runs worth your time if you want to power up faster.
What You Need Before Starting
Make sure you've got:
- Access to the Jiangshi Metro zone
- At least the bonfire fast travel point unlocked
- Basic platforming skills (you'll be jumping across awnings and rooftops)
You don't need special gear or abilities to reach any chest. Some locations just require more careful jumping than others.
All Eight Chest Locations
You can grab these chests in any order, but we've numbered them for easy reference. The directions below will get you to each one.
Chest #1: Above the Bonfire
Fast travel to the bonfire and walk toward it. You'll see an NPC named Mu Ying standing near the fire. Look up and you'll spot the chest sitting on a small awning directly above her.
Use the surrounding awnings as stepping stones. Jump from one to the next until you can reach the platform where the chest sits.
This chest makes a good starting point since it's right next to a fast travel location and only needs simple platforming.
Chest #2: Northwest Building
Head to the far northwest corner of Jiangshi Metro. Once you're at the map boundary, look for a building on the left side of the street.
Go inside and walk to the back. The chest is tucked behind some crates in the rear corner. Move around the crates to access it.
This is another beginner-friendly chest with no platforming required.
Chest #3: Central Garden Room
Travel to Central Garden, one of the major landmarks in this zone. You'll see a large central area that sits at a lower elevation. Drop down into it.
Once you're down there, go to the southwest side and find a room entrance. The chest is inside.
Chest #4: Curio Town Vents
Find Curio Town at the bottom southeast part of the map. It's directly across from Central Garden, so you can use the garden as a reference point.
Climb into one of the buildings in Curio Town. Follow the path through the interior until you see a vent opening in the ceiling. Climb up into the vent and crawl through to the end. The chest is waiting there.
Chest #5: Rooftop Route
Start in the same room where you found Chest #4. Jump over the broken wall section in that room.
Head down the road toward the water area. Turn right and jump onto a rooftop. Keep moving across the roofs until you reach an area you visited during the campaign. You'll recognize a broken-down building that you entered during the story.
Go inside the damaged building and climb the platforms. Keep going up until you reach the rafters. The chest sits on one of these upper beams.
Chest #6: Fallen Walker Building
Start at Central Garden and head southwest. You'll pass through an area with giant pillars (hard to miss). Follow the street until you reach a Fallen Walker enemy.
Look for a door on the left side near the Fallen Walker. Go through it. Inside, you'll see a broken wall section with a flag nearby.
Jump out through the broken wall and angle right immediately. The chest is just outside, accessible from that rightward jump.
The Fallen Walker makes this location easy to find again on future runs.
Chest #7: Across the Street
Exit the building where you just grabbed Chest #6. Look across the street at the ruined building on the other side.
Go inside and find the crate near the wall. Use it to jump up to the second floor. The chest is up there.
Since this chest is so close to #6, it makes sense to grab them back to back.
Chest #8: Green Tunnel Pipe
From the Fallen Walker area, leave the buildings and move past the enemy. Walk up the slope ahead of you.
The slope leads into a tunnel lit with green lights. Enter this green-lit tunnel and go to the far wall. Search for a small door set into the wall (it's easy to miss, so look carefully).
Go through the small door into a narrow tunnel. Follow it all the way to the end. On the right side, you'll see a broken pipe. The chest is inside that pipe.
Efficient Collection Route
Here's a route that cuts down on backtracking:
- Chest #1 at the bonfire (you'll spawn right next to it)
- Chest #3 in Central Garden (hub location)
- Chests #6 and #7 near the Fallen Walker (grab both while you're there)
- Chest #8 in the green tunnel (already near the Fallen Walker)
- Chest #2 in the northwest corner (standalone trip)
- Chests #4 and #5 in Curio Town (connected sequence)
This path groups nearby chests together and minimizes running back and forth across the map.
Common Issues and Solutions
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Hesitating to drop into Central Garden | The drop is safe. You need to go down to reach Chest #3. |
| Can't find the ceiling vent in Curio Town | Move slowly through the building interior and keep looking up. The vent entrance is in the ceiling. |
| Don't remember the campaign building for Chest #5 | Look for broken-down structures near the water with accessible rafters. |
| Missing the small door in the green tunnel | You're in the right place if you see green lighting. Check the far wall carefully. |
