NetEase Games delivered a massive update to Destiny Rising this week with patch 0904. The changes target two major player complaints: brutal difficulty spikes in key activities and stingy Exotic drop rates across the board.
The patch introduces the Partridge Sky Solar Sword through a limited-time event. Players can grab this new Exotic by completing challenges in the Efforts Rewarded Event, which also hands out the weapon's Emerald Stream ornament and various upgrade materials.

New Event Brings First Post-Launch Exotic
The Efforts Rewarded Event requires completion of New Light Handbook quests and unlocking the Acclaim system. Event tokens earned from challenges can be traded for the Partridge Sky and its cosmetics. NetEase warns that content may go live at different times across servers due to timezone differences.
The in-game shop now sells the Chartered Minister ornament for Partridge Sky. Event participants get a coupon for 200 Silver off this purchase, making the cosmetic more accessible during the event window.
Exotic Drops Get Major Buff Across Activities
The biggest long-term change hits Exotic weapon acquisition. Pinnacle Rewards in Strikes, Gauntlet: Blitz, and Shifting Gates now have significantly higher Exotic drop chances at Reward Level 6 and above. Legendary Campaign missions received similar buffs.
Basic Rewards also got Exotic drop chances for the first time. Strikes, Gauntlet: Blitz, and Shifting Gates can now drop Exotics as Basic Rewards starting at Reward Level 5. Singularity: Chaos activities at Reward Level 6 or higher join this list.
Morgran's Prey (Heroic) now grants Mod Fragments as Basic Rewards at Reward Level 6 and up. Normal difficulty rewards were adjusted accordingly. NetEase also bumped up Basic Reward quantities across all activities.
Difficulty Nerfs Hit Problem Activities
Two notorious difficulty spikes got toned down. Gauntlet: Onslaught - Issakis's Tabernacle and Strike - Nexus Interface both received combat intensity reductions after player feedback.
Ogres lost some bite with their "Rampage Recovery" ability getting weakened. This makes it easier for Lightbearers to deal damage and trigger Knockout during the ability's cast time. Front Line events now reset automatically if not completed within 30 minutes, preventing players from getting stuck in endless encounters.
Gift of the Nine: Boxer now deals additional fixed damage instead of its previous scaling, providing more consistent performance regardless of character build.

Character Changes Shake Up the Meta
Xuan Wei's Weapon Mastery got a complete rework. Aftermath now triggers an additional weapon damage instance instead of granting increased damage over time. This changes how players approach damage optimization with this character.
Tan-2 received a 0.1-second cooldown on the Flare Energy mechanic for both Phosphorus and Efficient Conversion abilities. The change prevents rapid ability cycling exploits while maintaining the character's core gameplay feel.
Weapon Mastery Level 5 now unlocks at Acclaim Level 25 instead of its previous requirement, making advanced character abilities more accessible. Character creation also gained a fourth skin tone option for better representation.
New lore entries for Tan-2, Finnala, and other characters expand the game's narrative content through character quest connections.
Artifact System Gets Quality-of-Life Overhaul
A new artifact archive lets players better track their collection. The Weapon Boost attribute changed from a timed buff system to a permanent damage bonus, simplifying damage calculations and providing consistent performance.
The Quick Equip screen now includes a "Wishlist" button that applies recommended loadouts for all four artifact slots directly to Singularity: Chaos wishlists. The system automatically adapts to the current character's Exotic artifact element.
Artifact quality markers split from a single Gold tier into Gold (best) and Silver (good) categories. This gives clearer guidance for equipment decisions without requiring deep knowledge of stat ranges.
Safety features prevent costly mistakes. The Refactor system now warns players before skipping higher-Power artifacts when selecting "Refactor Again." The dismantle interface got "Equipped" and "Unequipped" tabs to prevent accidental destruction of important gear.
Weapon Balance and Combat Polish
Heir Apparent's heating progress display got improved visual feedback. Weapon perks now show damage effect descriptions in their vector allocation displays, giving players better information for strategic decisions.
A major Sidearm bug fix resolved these weapons dealing lower DPS than other weapons of equivalent range. This should restore Sidearms to their intended role in the weapon ecosystem.
Screen-shake and vibration effects during blast damage received improvements for better sensory feedback during intense fights.
System Improvements Across the Board
The Acclaim system now shows activity and feature unlock previews, helping players plan their progression more effectively. Real-time reward claiming issues got resolved, ensuring immediate access to earned rewards.
Character-exclusive emotes and weapon-exclusive sprays have improved tip displays. The filter logic for character recommendations in Realm of the IX activities works better for finding suitable teammates.
Black Market bounty issuance got refined with an increased Favor cap for merchants, expanding opportunities for alternative progression paths.
Extensive Bug Fixes Target Stability
The patch addresses dozens of technical issues across all game systems. Destination quest experiences improved with Public Event tracking no longer canceling other quests. Sparrow Racing rankings display correctly now, and NPCs don't require active quest tracking for interaction.
iOS controller performance issues with Device Vibration got fixed, resolving input problems for mobile players using external controllers.
Character-specific fixes include Ning Fei's cloak physics after weapon collisions, cutscene dialogue in Kabr's character quest, and Lightning Strike overpenetration with high-tier enemies. Attal's reticle properly shows available Weapon Mastery triggers, while Wolf's Flames tracking time now matches cast time.
Tan-2's interaction with the "Allocation Vector" weapon perk no longer grants unintended energy gains. Weapon Mastery extra damage calculations work correctly for low-health enemy defeats.
Talent system bugs got squashed, including Ning Fei's Talent 6: Astral Projection activation problems and Wolf's 6th Talent dynamic avatar unlock prompt errors.
System-wide fixes cover artifact description visibility, dismantle list displays, and stage failure clear time accuracy. Payment processing in Japan related to age verification works properly, and redemption code issues affecting certain bundles got resolved. Event: Memento Mori reward claiming also functions correctly now.

What This Means for Players
The changes represent a major shift toward more accessible Exotic acquisition without removing endgame challenge. Improved reward structures should encourage participation in diverse activities while refined difficulty curves replace artificial barriers.
The Partridge Sky event establishes a framework for future limited-time content, signaling NetEase's commitment to regular updates and community engagement.
Veteran players need to adapt their strategies, particularly those invested in Xuan Wei or Tan-2 builds. The artifact quality system provides clearer guidance for long-term equipment planning, while extensive bug fixes should improve overall gameplay stability.
This update shows the development team's responsiveness to community feedback while maintaining the core challenge and progression systems that define Destiny's mobile experience.
