You learn sightlines on Woods, Reserve, Shoreline, Customs, Lighthouse, Streets of Tarkov, Interchange, and Ground Zero, then survive long enough on each to land five clean kills. Most attempts end with you dead before the second headshot, having lost the rifle, scope, armor, and rig.

The rifle pool sits in three rough tiers. On the budget end, the Mosin Infantry from Prapor LL1 is dirt cheap, iron sights work fine, and a single 7.62x54R round to the head ends the fight regardless of helmet tier. The VPO-215 is the other early-wipe budget pick, lighter and quieter once suppressed. Mid-tier options include the SV-98, which feeds from a magazine, and the Remington Model 700 in 7.62x51 NATO with a customizable platform. At the top end, the ORSIS T-5000M and DVL-10 deliver excellent ergonomics, but the cost-to-loss ratio gets ugly fast on a quest where you will die repeatedly. Most players grinding this themselves stick with a Mosin or VPO-215 because the loadout costs less than the rounds it fires.

Mechanic hands out Shooter Born In Heaven once your PMC hits level 14 and finishes the Farming questline. The reward package is one of the better ones in the mid-game progression chain. You get EXP, a Sniper Rifles skill bump, Mechanic reputation, Roubles, and the HK G28 7.62x51 marksman rifle with magazines and ammo. Mechanic also unlocks the Magazine Case for purchase, which solves stash organization for any player running multiple loadouts. The bigger reason most people grind this quest is what comes after. Completion unlocks the Collector quest, the long-running progression task that ends in the Kappa Container reward. Skipping Shooter Born In Heaven means skipping Kappa entirely.
