Different ranked modes also award different point values per win, so the route you pick affects how fast the climb actually moves.

Your ARP total places you on the rank ladder, which runs from the entry Marauder tiers through the highest Elite divisions and the special placements reserved for top ladder players. Each rank gate matters because it directly controls preset access. Lower ranks unlock kits with basic armor and standard ammo. Higher ranks open presets carrying Class 5 and Class 6 armor, meta-tier weapons, better ballistic plates, and stronger medical loadouts. That gear gap is the real prize behind the rating climb. A player at high ARP with full preset access has a built-in advantage in every match they queue, which is why most players treat the ladder as a gear unlock system.

Ranked Arena punishes inconsistency in a way few competitive shooters do. Matchmaking guarantees you face players with similar ARP, so as you climb, the average opponent gets sharper and better-equipped. Random teammates at any rating tier can throw entire match series, and a single bad streak undoes a long run of wins. Each ranked match also runs through several rounds with overtime potential, so a real climb from the lower tiers to a high ARP can swallow weeks of evenings. Players who hit a wall at a specific rating range often turn to a rating boost to break the plateau and skip ahead to the rank tier they actually want to play at.
