The raid progresses linearly through four distinct wings, each escalating in difficulty and mechanical complexity. Last Stand of the Zandalari opens with Jin'rokh the Breaker, a positioning-heavy fight around conductive water pools, followed by Horridon's chaotic four-door add gauntlet and the Council of Elders' simultaneous boss mechanics. Every boss in the Throne of Thunder raid has a chance to drop Thunderforged versions of its loot table, adding +6 item levels above the standard drop. Normal mode drops sit at 522 ilvl (528 Thunderforged), while Heroic mode drops land at 535 ilvl (541 Thunderforged). Ra-den's entire loot table is guaranteed Thunderforged at 541 ilvl. Standard (non-Thunderforged) items can be upgraded twice through the item upgrade system, each tier adding +3 ilvl, so a fully upgraded regular piece matches a Thunderforged drop in raw stats. This means Thunderforged rolls save you upgrade currency rather than creating a permanent power gap. Tier 15 set tokens drop from specific bosses throughout the raid: Council of Elders awards hand tokens, Ji-Kun drops leg tokens, Dark Animus provides chest tokens, Iron Qon carries shoulder tokens, and Twin Consorts drop helm tokens. These tokens convert at the Shado-Pan Assault quartermasters into class-specific set pieces with two-piece and four-piece bonuses that directly impact rotational gameplay. Beyond the raid itself, the Shado-Pan Assault faction sells 522 ilvl gear (including strong trinkets and weapons) at various reputation thresholds, with reputation earned primarily through boss kills inside the instance.
