What Are the August Celestials?
The August Celestials are four powerful Wild Gods who protect Pandaria's sacred temples from corruption. These divine beings fight an endless war against the sha (those nasty manifestations of negative emotions) and the mogu (evil titan-forged enemies). They need your help to keep their temples safe, and they'll reward you handsomely for it.
You start at Neutral reputation with this faction and can work your way up to Exalted. Unlike other MoP reputation grinds, you don't need to grind Golden Lotus to Revered first. Once you hit level 90, you can jump straight into August Celestials content.
Getting Started: Requirements and Prerequisites
Level 90 and Temple Access
You need to be level 90 to earn August Celestials reputation, but you can start the qualifying questline at level 87. This initial quest chain tests your combat skills and introduces you to the faction's lore.
Before you can really dig into August Celestials dailies, you'll need access to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The vale stays locked until you prove yourself through the Golden Lotus questline. Head to the Temple of the White Tiger in Kun-Lai Summit and complete three trials. The final challenge pits you against a shadowy version of a faction leader.

Finding Your First Quest
Several NPCs across Pandaria can give you the initial Temple of the White Tiger quest:
- Farmhand Bo (53.8, 84.1) - Southern Kun-Lai Summit, south side of Westwind Rest
- Wanderer Chu (72.0, 94.2) - Southeastern Kun-Lai Summit, just south of Binan Village
- Hopsmaster Chang (50.0, 51.8) - Central Vale of Eternal Blossoms, in southern Halfhill (look for the building with the big barrel on top)
- Leni Kelpenstout (52.4, 78.0) - Southern Krasarang Wilds, on the eastern island of Nayeli Lagoon, south of the flight master
Where to Find Your Quartermaster
Daily Quest Hubs by Faction
Both factions have their quartermasters in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. These NPCs handle both reputation rewards and daily quest assignments.
Find Sage Whiteheart in the Shrine of Seven Stars at (84.6, 63.4). She's on the lower floor, far right side of the main room.
Talk to Sage Lotusbloom in the Shrine of Two Moons at (62.6, 23.2). Look for her on the first floor, right of the main entrance.
How Daily Quests Work
The August Celestials use a rotating daily system. Each day, your quartermaster gives you a breadcrumb quest that sends you to one of four temples. You'll complete four quests at whichever temple is active that day.
Each temple hub awards between 1,100 and 1,250 reputation per day before any bonuses. The exact amount depends on which temple you're visiting.
Temple of the White Tiger: Your Best Daily Hub
Temple of the White Tiger gives the most reputation at 1,250 points per day (before bonuses). Every session here starts with Trial at the Temple of the White Tiger.
After the trial, you'll get either Contending With Bullies or The Torch of Strength (both worth 250 rep). These unlock one of two combat series, each with four rounds of opponents.

Boosting Your Reputation Gains
Grand Commendation: Double Your Progress
Once you hit Revered, buy the Grand Commendation of the August Celestials immediately. This Bind on Account item doubles your reputation gains with the faction, cutting your Revered to Exalted grind in half.
Send these commendations to your alts before they start their August Celestials journey. You'll thank yourself later when your alt characters zoom through the reputation grind.
Increases reputation gained with the August Celestials by 100% for all characters on your account.
Hozen Peace Pipe: Rare but Valuable
Keep an eye out for the Hozen Peace Pipe, which has a chance to drop from Scritch in Kun-Lai Summit. This consumable gives 1,000 reputation to eight different Pandaria factions at once: August Celestials, The Anglers, Golden Lotus, The Klaxxi, The Lorewalkers, Order of the Cloud Serpent, Shado-Pan, and The Tillers.
The pipe destroys itself when used and has a 7-day cooldown, so it's more of a nice bonus than a reliable farming method.
Celestial Offering: Your Temple Buff System
At Honored reputation, spend 100 gold on a Celestial Offering. This item gives you powerful buffs when you're near any of the four celestial temples. The buffs make your daily quests easier and provide major help during legendary cloak questline trials.

Getting Your Cloud Serpent Mount
The Thundering August Cloud Serpent represents one of the coolest mounts in MoP, but you'll need more than just August Celestials reputation to ride it.
First, you need Cloud Serpent Riding skill, which requires Exalted reputation with Order of the Cloud Serpent. This means you're actually working toward two different Exalted reputations for one mount. Plan accordingly and consider running both reputation grinds simultaneously.
The mount costs 10,000 gold once you hit Exalted with August Celestials, so start saving up during your reputation grind.

The August Celestials offer level 489 Epic gear in three slots: bracers, gloves, and boots. All pieces require Valor Points plus reputation requirements.

Buy these pieces based on your current gear needs and Valor Point income. The bracer enchants at Revered also provide excellent value for enchanters or players looking to upgrade their gear.

Daily Quest Strategy
Set up a consistent daily routine to knock out your temple quests efficiently. Since temple locations rotate, you can't predict exactly where you'll go each day, but the quest structure stays similar across all hubs.
Try to do your dailies when the Celestial Offering buffs match your class and spec. The stat boosts and health regeneration can significantly speed up quest completion and reduce downtime.

Since the Hozen Peace Pipe benefits eight different Pandaria factions, coordinate its use with other reputation goals. Don't waste it just on August Celestials when you could be progressing multiple factions simultaneously.
If you want the cloud serpent mount, start working on Order of the Cloud Serpent reputation alongside August Celestials. There's no point in reaching Exalted with August Celestials if you still need months of Cloud Serpent grinding for the riding skill.
The enchanting formulas at Revered provide good gold-making opportunities, especially early in the expansion when fewer players have access to these patterns. Consider prioritizing Revered if you're an enchanter looking to capitalize on the market.
