Most of Midnight's endgame content is locked behind story progress, not just level cap. World quests don't activate until you've completed the associated zone chapters. Renown with the major factions (the Silvermoon Court, the Amani Tribe, the Hara'ti, and The Singularity) starts accumulating properly only after you've hit the narrative milestones that introduce each group. The War of Light and Shadow, the six-chapter max-level campaign that continues the Midnight storyline, requires both level 90 and full completion of the leveling campaign to unlock. Finishing the Harandar zone also unlocks the Haranir as a playable Allied Race. For players running multiple alts, getting one character through the full campaign triggers Adventure Mode, which lets every subsequent character skip most story requirements and go straight to endgame content.

The Midnight campaign runs across 17 chapters split over five distinct zones. Eversong Woods is the mandatory starting point, covering levels 80 to 83 in the redesigned blood elf homeland. Once you've cleared Eversong, three paths open in any order: Zul'Aman, Harandar, and Arator's Journey, each spanning levels 83 to 88. Zul'Aman takes you into the ancient troll kingdom, dealing with the uneasy relationship between Chieftain Zul'jarra's Amani people and the blood elves as the Void presses in. Harandar is a bioluminescent primordial jungle where you earn the trust of the Haranir and uncover their connection to the goddess Shul'ka. Arator's Journey follows Arator, son of Turalyon and Alleria Windrunner, on a questline tied to the Light. After finishing all three mid-zones, the Voidstorm opens for levels 88 to 90, the final push of the leveling campaign where Xal'atath and the Devouring Host make their stand. At max level, the six-chapter War of Light and Shadow picks up the story and serves as the expansion's post-leveling narrative continuation.
