Awakening The Machine is a unique scenario from the WoW The War Within expansion. Situated within the Halls of Awakening, players are tasked with protecting the Speaker, Kuldas, as he performs the Rites of Awakening. Completing this event to its end will award you the rare "It's Not Much, But It's Honest Work" milestone and plenty of additional rewards from the chest at the end of the activity.

This scenario is designed for 1 to 5 players, where your goal is to defend an NPC from waves of attacking foes. Additionally, you will have the chance to use consumables to unlock various buffs to enhance your character for that run. Successfully defending the NPC rewards you with Resonance Crystals and other exclusive items every fifth wave.
