Blizzard revealed the complete January 2026 Trading Post lineup on December 22, giving players an early look at next month's rewards. The announcement centers on the Ensemble: Vengeful Regalia of the Crusader, a full Scarlet Crusade armor set that players earn by completing their Traveler's Log objectives throughout January.
The red and gold aesthetic runs through nearly every reward category this month. Weapon transmogs, armor pieces, and even mount options carry the distinctive Light-themed coloring that Paladin and Priest mains will recognize immediately.
Scarlet Crusade Takes Over January
January's inventory leans hard into Scarlet Crusade imagery. The color scheme matches Silvermoon City's signature red and gold, which isn't coincidental given the upcoming Midnight expansion.
Midnight launches March 2 as the second chapter in the Worldsoul Saga. The expansion focuses on Light versus Void conflict, with Silvermoon City and the Sunwell serving as the main battlegrounds. The pre-patch drops January 20 with class changes and adjustments, giving players time to adapt before the full release.
Available Mounts
The Savage Crimson Battle Turtle debuts as January's new mount option at 500 Trader's Tender. This ground mount sports fiery red coloring and fits the month's Crusader theme. Blizzard's description notes the turtle "sees red at every turn" and reminds players that "nothing can outrun a cannon."
The Brilliant Sunburst Peafowl returns from last year's January rotation at 750 Tender. This flying mount with blazing plumage remains the most expensive item in the entire January selection.
Battle Pet
Wind-Up Wuffi comes back from January 2025's offerings at 300 Trader's Tender. Players who missed it last year can grab it this time around.

Individual armor pieces range from budget-friendly to mid-tier pricing:

Golden Clockwork Attire returns from last January at 650 Tender. That makes it the second priciest item behind only the Brilliant Sunburst Peafowl mount.

The weapon designs maintain Trading Post's typical quality standards. Coverage spans enough weapon types to satisfy most class specializations.
Free Bonus Reward
Players who hit 1,000 Traveler's Log points between January 1-31 automatically receive the Ensemble: Vengeful Regalia of the Crusader. The set includes head, shoulder, chest, waist, legs, feet, wrists, hands, and back/cloak slots.
Blizzard describes it as armor "reserved for the most illustrious of the devout, these raiments exemplify the callous conviction of the Scarlet Crusade." The red and gold Light-themed design fits Paladins and Priests perfectly, though WoW's transmog system lets any class use it once unlocked.
Unlike purchasable items that stick around all month, the bonus reward only drops in January. Players need to finish enough Traveler's Log activities before the 31st or miss out entirely.
How Trading Post Works
The Trading Post runs on monthly rotations with both automatic and earned currency.
Getting Trader's Tender
Active subscribers receive 500 Trader's Tender automatically each month through the Collector's Cache. The delivery happens at the start of each month for accounts in good standing. Players without active game time or subscriptions when the month begins get their 500 Tender on the first day they reactivate.
The Traveler's Log offers up to 500 additional Tender monthly. Activities include completing quests, defeating dungeon bosses, clearing raid encounters, participating in seasonal events, running battlegrounds, tackling Mythic+ dungeons, and month-specific challenges.
Players don't need to finish every listed activity to cap out at 500 Tender. The system allows picking preferred gameplay styles.
Where to Find Trading Posts
Alliance players visit T&W (Tawney and Wilder) outside the Mage District in Stormwind. Horde players head to the Zen'shiri Trading Post next to Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar. Both factions can access representatives in Dornogal's Foregrounds on the Isle of Dorn.
Level 10 unlocks Trading Post access through the Adventure Guide interface.
Managing Tender and Purchases
Trader's Tender doesn't expire. Unspent currency accumulates indefinitely, letting players save for expensive items or wait for better monthly selections.
The freeze function lets players lock one item before each month ends. Frozen items remain purchasable in future months until bought or replaced by a different frozen selection. This prevents missing desired items when Tender runs short.
The Trading Post launched during Dragonflight as a way for active subscribers to earn exclusive cosmetics through regular gameplay. Offerings rotate monthly, though some items return in later rotations. February 2026 marks the system's third anniversary.
Maximizing Your Tender
The Brilliant Sunburst Peafowl alone costs 750 Tender, more than the automatic monthly 500. Players eyeing multiple expensive items need smart currency planning.
The Turbulent Timeways event offers faster Tender earning while simultaneously helping level alts to the current 80 cap. Legion Remix also provides quick currency accumulation for limited-time cosmetic rewards.
Players max out at 1,000 Trader's Tender monthly (500 automatic, 500 from Traveler's Log). Careful budgeting matters when several pricey items look appealing. The freeze function secures one priority item for later while accumulating Tender for immediate purchases.
Pre-Patch Timing
January 2026 hits during a busy period in WoW's content calendar. The Midnight pre-patch arrives January 20 with class adjustments, giving players nearly six weeks to adapt before the March 2 launch.
The thematic connection between January's red and gold Trading Post items and Midnight's Silvermoon City focus creates natural synergy. Players interested in matching their transmog to the expansion's visual themes can stock up now.
For players who stepped away recently or maintained minimal engagement, January offers multiple reasons to return. New Trading Post rewards, pre-patch content, ongoing Turbulent Timeways benefits, and proximity to a major expansion launch all converge this month.
Lighter Inventory
January's selection runs somewhat lighter compared to previous months. The absence of slipper items that previously padded inventory suggests Blizzard might be shifting toward items with broader player appeal.
Multiple returns from January 2025 (Brilliant Sunburst Peafowl, Golden Clockwork Attire, Wind-Up Wuffi) give players second chances at rewards they missed or couldn't afford last year.
The weapon selection stands out for variety and quality. Both one-handed and two-handed options across swords and maces provide flexibility for different specs and transmog preferences.
