Five of Marathon's six launch shells are playable during the event, each built around a distinct combat role. Destroyer is the frontline tank with shoulder-mounted homing missiles, a deployable riot barricade, and lateral thrusters built for aggressive pushes. Assassin works from invisibility and smoke, using active camo and a shadow dive that negates fall damage to create ambush opportunities. Recon fills the intel role through sonar pulses that reveal nearby enemies and a tracker drone that hunts hostile players, exploding on contact to overheat and slow its targets. Triage keeps squads alive with healing drones, remote revive tendrils, and a battery overcharge that temporarily boosts weapon damage. Vandal trades durability for raw mobility, relying on double jumps, power slides, and a disruptor blast to outmaneuver fights. Rook stands apart as the solo-only scavenger frame, dropping into active matches with a basic kit and the ability to blend in with UESC forces. No abilities beyond that disguise, but no risk to your own gear either.

Server Slam progression doesn't carry into the full game, but the Arrival Caches you unlock do. These banked loot packages get delivered to your account at launch and give you a real head start over players who skipped the preview. The Standard Arrival Cache unlocks after completing your first mission and includes six standard implants, four standard shell cores, six standard weapon chip mods, plus the Overrun and Hardline weapons. Reaching Runner Level 10 earns the Enhanced Arrival Cache with upgraded implants, two enhanced shell cores for every Runner shell, enhanced weapon chip mods, and the Enhanced Magnum alongside Enhanced Hardline. The Deluxe Arrival Cache at Runner Level 30 is the top tier, containing a mix of Deluxe and Enhanced implants, shell cores for all shells, weapon chip mods, the Deluxe Magnum, Enhanced Volley Rifle, and a Deluxe Base Backpack.
