Marvel Rivals Season 7 goes live on March 20, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, with two hours of maintenance expected before the servers come back up. The update brings a new hero, a full competitive rework, an integrated esports system, balance changes across the roster, and a substantial content drop across cosmetics, lore, and new game systems.
White Fox and Black Cat Join the Roster
White Fox is Season 7's launch hero. The South Korean Kumiho spy, real name Ami Han, joins as a Strategist with a kit built around espionage and mystical shapeshifting. She's described as effective both in a frontline support capacity and in a more passive support role, using her fox abilities to back up allies and disrupt opponents.
Black Cat arrives in the midseason update. Felicia Hardy, the notorious New York thief with close ties to Spider-Man, is confirmed for Season 7.5. Her role and full kit are yet to be confirmed.
New Lore and Stories
Three new story entries drop with Season 7. "The Hunt is On" is a new Serial, while "Shards of Hope" and "Real Power" expand the lore for White Fox and Captain America respectively.
Album System and Shot Challenge
The new Album system lets players capture and save moments from inside the game, from emote gatherings to hero snapshots, and share them directly with friends and the wider community.
A new game mode, the Shot Challenge, is now available at Times Square and the Practice Range. Players compete for leaderboard spots by testing their aim across both locations.
Battle Pass: Tablet of Life and Time
The Season 7 Battle Pass is called Tablet of Life and Time and includes 10 new costume sets. Confirmed skins include Hela (Helen Angerboda: The Rebel), Peni Parker (Badlands Lullaby), Luna Snow (Park Sun-young: The Dancer), Hawkeye (Ardent Archer), Angela (Doom Angel), Adam Warlock (Living Tribunal), Loki, Thor, Rocket Raccoon, and Doctor Strange.
The pass doesn't expire, so players can complete it at their own pace after purchasing it before the season ends.
Dual Life of Peter Parker Event
The seasonal event Dual Life of Peter Parker tasks players with completing missions themed around Spider-Man juggling hero and civilian life. Completing the event earns a free Deadpool skin: Wade Wilson: The Spirit Guard.

Competitive Rework
Season 7 overhauls several areas of ranked play. Placement matches now measure individual performance rather than factoring in teammates' results. After ten matches, rank adjusts by anywhere from -100 to +100 competitive points based solely on personal performance and tier.
The ban phase now allows each team to ban three heroes instead of two, and each ban window has been cut from 20 seconds to 15 to keep the draft moving. Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya also returns to the competitive map rotation.
Players who hit Gold or above this season earn the exclusive White Fox Secret Agent costume.
Esports System Goes Live
Season 7 introduces a fully integrated esports hub built directly into the game. The Marvel Rivals Ignite Preseason kicks off on March 27 and includes a global tournament browser covering regions, teams, and player profiles; live match streaming inside the client; replays and video highlights accessible from within the game (some with viewing expirations); and full schedules, standings, and ruleset info for every region.
Special partner team bundles will drop alongside the Preseason launch. The Championship and Clash pages have moved to the new Esports tab.
The Marvel Rivals Championship also returns for Season 7. All factions, from Top 8 teams to open qualifier participants, earn Units in addition to any cash prizes. Registration opens roughly one week into the season, with weekend matches running through the mid and late season.
A new Pro Pathway lets PC factions that place well earn Champion Points toward a spot competing against professional teams. The first qualification window opens in mid-2026.
New Accessories
White Fox, Iron Fist, Hawkeye, Mister Fantastic, Ultron, Adam Warlock, Peni Parker, Venom, Hulk, and Elsa Bloodstone all receive new accessories this season.
Twitch Drops
Twitch Drops run from March 20 at 12:00 UTC through April 17 at 09:00 UTC. This round includes the Scarlet Witch Will of Galacta costume and related bundle content.
College Perks Update
The College Perks costume lineup changes with Season 7:

Balance Changes
Ultimate charge rates are dropping by roughly 20% across all roles. The change targets ability spam and pushes players toward more deliberate Ultimate usage.
Elsa Bloodstone, Daredevil, Winter Soldier, Doctor Strange, and Deadpool (Vanguard) are all getting nerfed. Hulk, Blade, Black Panther, Deadpool (Duelist), Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, and Luna Snow are getting buffs, while Gambit, Invisible Woman, Magik, and Emma Frost are receiving tuning adjustments.
Magneto applies more lane pressure, Black Panther gets a speed boost, and Blade gets a damage increase at close range. Doctor Strange and Emma Frost both lose some defensive strength. Several team up abilities have also been removed or replaced, with new combinations taking their place.
Bug Fixes
Three hero bugs are addressed this patch. Angela's Wingblade Ascent was entering cooldown too early when Divine Judgement was quickly followed by the second hit of Heaven's Retribution; that's now fixed. Venom's Cellular Corrosion was triggering twice during Frenzied Arrival at low frame rates, which is also patched out. Cloak was surviving at zero HP after using Dark Teleportation into Phased state, and that too has been corrected.
A Convoy Mode scoreboard bug is also fixed. The score could display incorrectly when a match ended while the mission vehicle was near its destination.
PC players on stronger hardware can now access an experimental CPU Rendering Optimization under Settings > Other > Performance Optimization (Beta). NetEase flags it as a beta feature and recommends contacting support if anything breaks.
Coming Later in Season 7
Black Cat arrives in the midseason update. A new Lower Manhattan map for Convergence mode launches on April 2, set in a futuristic version of the city under Alchemax control. An April Fools event will hand out a free Jeff Rodeo emote featuring Deadpool riding Jeff the Land Shark, with bonus rewards for players who use it with friends.
Marvel Rivals Championship registration opens about a week after launch. The Ignite Preseason starts March 27.
