Marathon Boost

Marathon is a PvPvE extraction shooter. Runners infil into hostile zones on Tau Ceti IV, scavenge for gear, and try to exfil before a rival crew or UESC security puts them down. The Marathon loop is punishing by design.

• Bring your best loadout in, lose a fight, lose the loadout
• Build faction reputation across a season, then watch the reset take it

That structure is why a Marathon boost exists. Most people ordering one are not bad at the game. They are tired of rebuilding from zero.

What does a boost actually cover?

Everything in Marathon that wipes, resets or eats time: faction rank across all six corporations, Credits and gear to refill a vault, weapon and mod acquisition after a bad run, ranked climbs under the Holotag system, and Cryo Archive vault clears with a geared crew.

Piloted or self-play?

• Piloted - a booster logs in and runs the work. You set the goal, step away, and take the account back when it is done.
• Self-play - you queue alongside the booster and play the runs together. Slower, but you keep the controller and pick up the rotations and gear-economy calls that separate consistent Runners from the ones who keep wiping.

Both run across PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and every Marathon boost is hand-played by a vetted Runner.

Marathon's progression spine is the faction contract system. Six corporations, each with its own contracts and its own Armory:

• CyberAcme - the gateway faction. General-purpose work; an Armory of ammo, backpacks, healing and key templates
• Arachne - aggressive PvP; lethal weapon mods and implants
• Sekiguchi - Runner Shell cores and ability cooldowns
• MIDA - sabotage, explosives and area control
• NuCaloric - survival and recovery: shield charges, patch kits, self-revive
• Traxus - high-value asset extraction; the top-tier weapons and mods that anchor an endgame loadout

How does reputation actually work?

Every Marathon run starts with a contract from an unlocked faction. Complete it, extract alive, and you earn reputation with that faction plus Credits and XP. Pushing a faction's rank widens what its Armory will sell you. Your Shell's own stats are handled separately, through the Cradle.

What survives a season reset?

A Marathon season reset is less total than the panic suggests, but it is not gentle.

• Wiped: gear, vault, Runner level, faction levels and upgrades, and seasonal progression
• Kept: cosmetics you earned or bought, titles, Codex progress, and liaison-contract progress - so you are not reconnecting with the factions from scratch every season

This is the most common reason people buy a Marathon boost. Faction work is not a side activity: it dictates what gear you can buy and how fast you recover after dying.

A Marathon Runner is a biosynthetic shell, and Bungie adds more of them as seasons land. Rather than a roster that dates itself, here is what actually shapes a run:

• Aggressive shells built to open fights and finish them
• Scouting shells built for intel, speed and loot routes
• Support shells built to keep a crew standing
• Disruption shells built to deny ground and break pushes
• A solo infiltrator that starts with nothing and plays by its own rules

Every Marathon shell carries its own active and passive abilities, so the pick shapes everything about how a run plays.

What do you layer on top?

Moddable weapons, body implants and core upgrades. Cores swap passive perks that adjust cooldowns, heat and ability triggers. Implants change baseline stats. Weapon mods change rate of fire, mag size, recoil and falloff.

Why is loadout-building an economic decision?

Because in Marathon everything you carry in can be lost in a single bad fight. Bring your best and you have an edge, but a fumbled extraction wipes it. Bring a budget kit and you fight uphill against geared crews. Most people ordering a Marathon boost want the gear floor that ends the worry.

Ranked in Marathon does not work like ranked in most shooters. To queue you need a Holotag and a loadout that meets a minimum value. The match itself is real-gear PvP, so dying costs the whole kit you wore in, not just score.

Your Marathon Holotag sets both the score you are chasing and the penalty for losing, so the higher divisions pay more and cost more.

Why do good players still buy a rank boost?

In Marathon it is rarely about aim. It is the gear cost layer. A strong player can climb on mechanics alone, but a run of bad lobbies drains the stockpile and forces them back into faction grinds.

What makes the climb worth the bleed?

The cosmetic rewards at the top divisions survive the seasonal wipe. That is rare permanence in a game built on resets, and it is what makes the gear cost worth absorbing.

What is behind the seventh vault?

Seven vaults sit through the ship, each gated behind a puzzle and each harder than the last. Collect all six subroutines and the seventh opens on The Compiler, the boss encounter at the heart of the archive. Clearing it is the closest thing Marathon has to a traditional raid finish, with extraction stakes layered on top.

Why is it harder than the other zones?

• The gear floor is the highest in Marathon
• Cramped corridors force PvP you cannot walk away from
• Vault clears need coordination: someone on the puzzle, the rest holding lanes against rival crews
• Payouts feed straight back into faction unlocks and weapon access
