Straight Record is one of the earlier quests in ARC Raiders, and it follows a simple formula: find an EMP device, shut down its power sources, then disable the trap itself. The objectives are scattered across a small area, though, and tracking them down without directions can eat up valuable raid time. This guide walks you through every location so you can knock out Straight Record quickly and get back to looting.
Quest Overview
Objective: Disable an old EMP trap by turning off three power switches, then deactivate the trap.
Location: Northwestern Dam Battlegrounds, in the Victory Ridge region. Victory Ridge covers the area from the Pale Apartments on the western edge of the Dam up to the West Broken Bridge in the north.
Difficulty: Beginner-friendly. This is an early quest with simple interact-and-move-on objectives.
Finding the EMP Device
Head to the northern part of Dam Battlegrounds, near the Hydroponic Dome complex. The EMP trap sits in a clearing surrounded by ruined buildings, south of the space between the West Broken Bridge and Ruby Residence landmarks.
Once you spot the cluster of destroyed structures around an open area, you're in the right place. Interact with the EMP trap to start the next phase: hunting down three power switches.
Power Switch Locations
All three switches look like glowing yellow boxes. They're spread around the EMP trap's location, and each one requires a quick interaction to shut down.
Switch #1: The Northern Ridge
Look north from the EMP trap. The first switch sits on a ridge overlooking the clearing. Coming from the south, you'll spot the yellow glow up on top of the elevated terrain. Climb up, interact with the switch, and you're one down.
Switch #2: Inside the Ruined Building
This one takes a bit of climbing. East of the EMP trap, you'll find a ruined red building with the second switch on its upper floor.
To get up there, look for a breachable power box or generator near the building's base. Use it to pull yourself onto the upper platform, then work your way across the broken flooring to reach the switch. The platforming isn't complicated, just take it slow so you don't fall.
(One source describes approaching from a different angle using a generator to the left of the EMP device, but either route gets you to the same second-floor switch.)
Switch #3: Follow the Cable
The third switch is south of the EMP trap, and it's the easiest to find if you know the trick. Look for a small electrical pylon near the clearing, then follow the power cable running along the ground. It leads directly to the final switch. Turn it off and head back to the trap.
Finishing the Quest
With all three switches disabled, return to the EMP trap and interact with it one last time. That's it. Straight Record is done.
You don't need to extract. Quest completion registers the moment you deactivate the trap. If another Raider kills you afterward, or you die to ARCs, or you just feel like exploring until the raid ends, you'll still have credit for Straight Record. Head back to Speranza whenever and turn it in to Celeste.
